Nancy and I searched the woods for any food. I was so desperate, I would've eaten a bug! We talked about normal things along the way, like where we're from, what our interests and hobbies are, and our families (not including our parents of course). We talked as if we have known each other for a long time, however, I got the feeling that my partner still disliked me. What was her problem? I decided to say something. "Hey. What is your problem with me?"

Nancy stopped and turned to me. "Well, you're just too cheery and bubbly. I don't like it. Also, I feel like you aren't taking this seriously."

"Of course I'm taking this seriously. I've trained so long for it. And, excuse me for trying to be nice! Would you like it if I wasn't nice at all?"

I glared at her. She glared back. I wasn't scared of her though.

I stood there, holding her gaze and making myself look really tough. It was very easy. Finally, she backed down. "Alright," she said in a false small voice. "Let's keep moving."

We walked in silence. I noticed that my partner was still looking nervous and kept fiddling with her weapons. She must be in shock by that dream she had. I decided not to speak to her about it. We continued walking and we finally found something: a deer. I signaled for Nancy to be quiet, and she obliged. I snuck up on the deer and stabbed it with my sword. I withdrew my weapon from where I stabbed it and it fell to the floor. I don't like hunting, especially hunting animals, but we had no choice. Nancy walked over and dragged the deer to where she made a fire. She cooked it and we dug in. Nancy tried to make conversation about what upcoming events and what we might face. When we finished eating, we put out the fire and continued trekking through the forest and I stepped on a patch of leaves. It crunched under my foot, and suddenly I fell into a hole.
