As I watched the trees for any sign of danger, I heard a blood-curdling scream. I whipped around and saw Leal standing over Nancy with a pointy rock aimed at Nancy's heart. Ooohhh I KNEW we couldn't trust her. I couldn't wait to rub this in her face! Anyway, I ran up to the little girl and she turned to look at me, but her eyes weren't brown anymore. They were pure black with no pupils. They looked like a demon's eyes. I shrieked and Leal screamed and charged at me, rock aimed straight for my chest. She tackled me to the ground. She was hovering above me with her rock, eyes as evil as a monster's. I pushed her off with difficulty and kicked the rock out of her hands. She ran over to retrieve the rock and charged at me again. This time, I was ready. She tackled me to the ground, but she was struggling to pin me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my partner getting up into a crouch. She put a finger to her lips, signaling for me to be quiet. I brought the fight closer to her, and Nance pounced onto Leal's and back and her claws punctured the little girl's back. Leal shrieked in pain and roared while she tried to shake Nancy off her back. My partner made her way up to Leal's neck and drove her claws right into it. Blood spilled everywhere and Leal (or whatever monster she was) fell to the ground and stopped moving. She was completely frozen. I crouched down and searched her pink jacket and found two medallions in her pocket. I grabbed them and handed one to Nance. I glower at her. "What happened to, 'Don't trust strangers we find in the woods?'"

"Well she was a vulnerable little kid!"

"She was in the WOODS. Alone. How could you NOT sense any danger from that?" I shot back at her.

" I'm sorry," she mumbled, though that didn't stop me from giving her a hard time.

"You weren't even under a spell, like I was! How could you have been that stupid?"

"Well, YOU trusted Xavier right away!"

"Like I said, I was under a SPELL!"

I gave her one last glare before saying, "Alright. I'm done arguing. I'm going to sleep. You keep watch and DON'T go up to little kids that are alone at a tree."

My partner rolled her eyes. "Fine. Sleep well."

I turned and sat down on the ground. I took off my flannel shirt and laid it down like a pillow, laid down, and fell asleep.
