chap. 3

It was morning, from the day after. Thankfully, it was Saturday, so Yamaguchi didn't have to get up. Honestly, he wouldn't anyway. He feels so bad to the point that he wanted to throw up all night and even did it like 3 times.
He sister came to his room, only to find him under his blankets, hiding from the sunlight because he forgot to close the blinds at night.
- Get up Tadashi, food's ready. - she said, trying to get him out of his bed.
- I'm not hungry. - he said, fighting back.
- ok then, i don't care anyway. - she said as she walked away.
Yamaguchi got up and closed the blinds, making his room dark again. He had a really bad night, he barely slept. He turned on a little light he had on his room and picked up his phone, ready to call the hospital to know how tsukki's doing.
He unlocked his phone and saw a message from his grandmother.
Yamaguchi loved his grandmother, she was the only one he could tell anything without being scared of her reaction.

Grandma 💞:
Hello Tadashi. I will be making some cookies. Come pick them up for you and your friend. ☺️

Yamaguchi:
thanks grandma! I'll be there in 10 minutes!

Yamaguchi got up and dressed to go out. He was already thinking on going through the hospital to visit Tsukishima.
He went downstairs and saw his parents and sister in the living room. He knew they wouldn't let him go so he slowly got out of the house, trying not to make much sound. Thankfully he succeeded.
He got on his bike so he could go faster and rode to his grandmother's house.
He arrived and knocked on the door. His grandmother came as quickly as she could, even tho she can't move herself like the others to open the door for his grandson. She gave him the cookies and patted his head. She didn't talk very much when she's with people face to face and she always has this kind expression.
- Thanks grandma, I'll be leaving now. - Yamaguchi said, holding back his tears, remembering the fact that he is going to enter Tsukki's hospital room and see his connected to all those machines and everything.
Then, he put the cookies on a basket he had on his bike and rode to the hospital.
His grandma slowly moving her head watching her grandson leave. Sometimes she's sad because she doesn't think she will live long enough to see him grow and get married.
Yamaguchi arrived the hospital and said he was visiting for Tsukishima.
He arrived his room and entered.
To his surprise, tsukishima wasn't connected to all those machines anymore, he was only connected to one of them. He was sitting on a chair next to the window, probably trying not to focus on everything that is happening.
- Hello Tsukki, i bought grandma's cookies. - yamaguchi said, closing the door.
Tsukishima looked at him and smiled.
He had a nasal cannula on his nose so he could breath properly.

amaguchi walked to tsukishima and handed him a cookie and took one for him too.
- They'll probably send me home in some days. - Tsukki said, looking through the window, eating his cookie.
Yamaguchi almost chocked on his food.
- Already???? How???? - he said in a shocked tone, widen eyes and raised eyebrows, looking at his friend.
- I'll continue treatment, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. If it gets worst, they'll proceed with surgery and continue those treatments, adding targeted therapy. - Tsukishima added, not unlocking his eyes with the view from his hospital room's window.
- That's good right? You going home is a big step! - Yamaguchi said, wanting to make tsukki feel a little better.
- Tadashi, i don't think I'm going to make it.
- Tsukki, we've talked about this. You're gonna be fine, you just have to be strong and you have to fight for your life, I'll be here with you, helping in everything i can. Don't say that, okay? - yamaguchi said looking at tsukki.
- Can i have a hug? - Tsukki asked.
Yamaguchi was surprised. That was the first time tsukki asked for a hug. Well, he does give him hugs once in a while, but it's different when someone asks for hugs.
Yamaguchi didn't answer, he just hugged tsukki. Tsukishima was still a little weak, so he trembled a little while putting his arms around his friend.
Yamaguchi broke the hug and looked at tsukki, smiling.
- You don't need to ask for hugs tsukki, just give them. I won't complain.
Tsukishima was visibly red. He turned his face again, facing the window. Yamaguchi giggled.
Suddenly, a doctor knocked on the door.
- Come in. - Tsukki responded in a weak tone.
- Good morning Tsukishima. Today is chemo day, so make sure you get ready, I'll be here in 15 minutes to get you. - the doctor said. Tsukishima nodded in response, then the doctor got out of the room.
- By the way Tsukki, who knows about the tumor? - Yamaguchi asked.
- Only you and my family, and let's keep it that way. I don't want to be bothered by lame people from 5 to 5 minutes, asking me how I'm doing. Like please Vanessa I have Lung cancer and I'm NOT doing fine at all. - Tsukki said, crossing his arms.
- That's the Tsukki I know. - Yamaguchi said, after chuckling from what tsukki said.
The situation was bad, but at least they could still make jokes about it.
- Also, I got you new headphones. - Yamaguchi said, looking for them in the bag he had brought with him.
- Really? Thanks, i needed ones. - Tsukki said responding.
- I know, you broke the previous ones - yamaguchi added, handing him brand new black headphones.
- How has it been with your sister? - Tsukki asked his friend.
- A mess, she's so annoying I wish she wasn't born. Her face looks like a burnt chicken nugget every time she puts makeup on like please I'm so tired of her ugly as-
Yamaguchi was interrupted by his friend's laugh.
- what? - he asked, confused.
- DO YOU HEAR THE WAY YOU'RE TALKING??? ABOUT YOUR SISTER??!! - Tsukki asked, wheezing after the last word.
- Dude i could talk shit about her for days don't even get me started. - yamaguchi said frowning.
Tsukishima laughed too hard for his lungs to handle, so he started coughing.
- AYO YOU GOOD??? - Yamaguchi said looking at tsukki, who's coughing like crazy.
- I'm *cough* FINE *cough* - Tsukki said, after some seconds it calmed down.
The doctor knocked on the door and signed Tsukki to go with him.
- Stay here. - Tsukki said to yamaguchi as he got up to go to his wheelchair.
Freckle boy nodded in response. Sitting on the chair blondie was sitting on, looking at the view from the window.
