chap. 7

A couple days have passed. Tsukishima and Yamaguchi haven't talked since the incident of the festival.
Yamaguchi felt sad, he cried all day with fear of losing tsukishima. He thought to himself it wasn't worth being scared if he is going to die, but it still scares him.
Yamaguchi decided to look through the indigo box again, so he could remember the happy days they had when they were little.
A dinosaur ring tsukishima forgot in his house after they played, two bracelets they did themselves with their names on it, the glasses tsukishima broke when they went to the museum, rocks and shells from the beach, shoelaces and finally, the hair box.
Yamaguchi looked through every single one of those things and smiled with teary eyes, remembering those days.

- How did you do that, Tsukki? - little yams asked tsukki, who was showing him a bracelet he made.
- With my hands, of course. - salty replied.
- Can you teach me??? PLEAAAASEE!!!?? - yamaguchi begged his friend to teach him how to make them.
- It's a secret, but i guess I can make an exception.
- YEY!!!
They spent hours and hours making their bracelets. Tsukishima though to himself that it was difficult to teach people how to do things and he isn't definitely in anyway possible going to be a teacher in the future.
- they're done.
- YAAYY I DID IT!

- Damn, he must have had a hard time not to yell at me during the process of making these. - yamaguchi said and giggled looking at those bracelets.
He laid back on his bed and sighed.
"Is he doing fine?" he thought to himself.
He looked at the day and hour, since he didn't know for how long had he been in his room.
- He must be home alone now. Can I go check on him? - yamaguchi said out loud.
- Yeah, i better go, and make up with him.
He got up and got something minimally decent dressed and got out of the house.
He hadn't seen sunlight in a while, he felt like a vampire.
He arrived tsukishima's house and rang on the bell.
No one responded, so he rang again.
Still no response. Yamaguchi though it could be a little disrespectful to use the keys they gave him now but he did and entered the house.
- Tsukki? Are you here? - he shouted, closing the door.
There wasn't any response so he went to tsukishima's room.
- Tsuk-
he stopped. Pretty sure his heart skipped a beat too. he couldn't move and he was holding his breath.
Tsukishima was laying on the ground, and looked like he had fell.
- tsukki??? TSUKKI??? - Yamaguchi called him and shaked him, no response. His worst nightmare was happening.
He grabbed his phone quickly and called 911.
- Hello?? My name is Yamaguchi and my friend is unconscious, his name is Tsukishima, he has a really advanced lung cancer.
The woman behind the phone asked a few questions and he answered them all even tho he was hyperventilating.
- Don't worry, there's an ambulance coming. You can hang up now.- the lady said.
- Thank you so much. - yamaguchi thanked and hanged up.
He tried to wake Tsukishima but it was a fail again.
- WHY NOW HUH? WHY NOW? - yamaguchi said as he sobbed with his hands on his face.
- YOU CANT DIE, I HAVEN'T TOLD YOU HOW I FEEL YET. - he yelled, shaking him.
- PLEASE WAKE UP KEI! PLEASE...please... - he cried out.
He didn't even think on calling Tsukishima's mom, dad or brother.
He finally heard the sirens and quickly went downstairs, shaking.
- Where's the victim?! - The doctor asked, entering the house.
- U-up stairs! - Yamaguchi asked, trying to calm down.
- Have you called his family yet? - a nurse asked.
Yamaguchi shaked his head and went outside to call Mrs. Tsukishima.

Mrs Tsukishima: Hello?

Yamaguchi: Mrs. Tsukishima, T-tsukki passed out and i called 911, they t-told me to call you.

Mrs Tsukishima: Do you know what hospital are they taking him too?

Yamaguchi: probably xx-xxx h-hospital.

Mrs Tsukishima: Tell them I'll be there as soon as I can!

Yamaguchi: O-okay!

Mrs Tsukishima: And you, be strong, okay?

Yamaguchi: yes...

Yamaguchi hanged up. He saw the paramedics and the doctor get Tsukishima into the ambulance.
- You come with us, okay? - The nurse told him. He nodded and entered the ambulance sitting next to Tsukishima, who was already entubed.
"Is this it...? Is he going to die now...?" He asked himself in his head.
Yamaguchi felt his head spinning. His vision was becoming blurry and he felt like he was going to throw up.
A few seconds after, he fainted, falling to his right side.

Yamaguchi's Point of View

My head hurts. A lot. Where the hell am I? It's so bright in here.
I hear waves... Am i at the beach?
I took a few steps forward and saw a beautiful sunset, at a empty beach.
Damn... It's really pretty.
- Looking at the sunset huh? - I turned around and saw Tsukki, walking up to me.
- Tsukki! Are you okay? - I asked running to him.
- Well, this is all a dream, so here, i am in fact okay.
- A dream?
- You fainted, yamaguchi.
- What...?
- You need to wake up.
- i don't want to...
- you need too if you want to see me one last time.

Author's Point of View

Yamaguchi woke up, two nurses sided him.
- oh god... - he said, scratching his head.
- is it everything okay? - one of them asked.
- I'm fine, i just feel a little bit dizzy.
- sit here for a bit.
He got up and sat on a chair at the hospital, apparently, they had already arrived.
Mrs Tsukishima had already arrived too. She was making a lot of questions to the doctor. She seemed really angry.
- YOU GAVE HIM MORE TIME, WHY IS HE GOING TO DIE NOW THEN??! - She shouted, making everyone else at the ER look at her.
Yamaguchi gulped and looked down at his knees.
He fell on his thoughts again.
"Why now...?", "If he accepted the surgery it wouldn't be like this", "Why didn't i go there sooner?" and "Was there anyway possible to not make this happen?".
A doctor came up to him. He didn't have a good expression at all.
- Hello, what's your name? - he asked.
- Tadashi Yamaguchi.
- Are you Tsukishima's friend?
- Yeah, I'm his best friend! How is Tsukki? Is he okay? Can I go see him? - Yamaguchi got up, but was stopped by the doctor.
He looked at him with a confused face. The doctor had a sad expression on his face.
- I can't go see him...?
- Yamaguchi, I'm really sorry... - The doctor said, going the opposite way.
