Chapter 14. Shot

Sunstreaker pushed me behind him as if they are really going to hurt me and held his knife tightly in his hand. "Sunstreaker, what are you doing here?" Lennox snapped. I grabbed Sunstreaker's arm as he wanted to approach. "You better shut up, human!" Sunstreaker snapped. Lennox aimed his gun on Sunstreaker. "Back off!"

"I am not here to harm Skylar. If that was my intention, she wouldn't be here. She would be dead, ripped apart merciless!" Sunstreaker snarled. "I don't care, step away from her!" Lennox snapped. I caught Sunstreaker's eyes for a moment. "He mean no harm... he's cool, right Sunny?"

He gave a small nod, "unless you keep aiming your gun on me!" He threatened. "First your set him free and now you invited him here?" My stepfather sounded disgusted and Sunstreaker was aware of the envy in his voice. "Stupid fleshbags!" He snarled. I grabbed his arm, "Sunstreaker... please... calm down."

I tugged on his arm. "Please..." his clenched his jaws together and straightened his back. His knuckles white from holding his knife to tightly. The tension started to rise, and I don't know how long Sunstreaker would allow being in this position. I stepped in front of Sunstreaker, "he's okay... We're friends, right Sunny?"

"We are..."
"I don't want him in this house!" My stepfather sneered while glaring at Sunstreaker. "He doesn't belong here, he doesn't belong on earth in general... all the things face you did..." my stepfather spat out. "You weren't even there when it happened! How can you just assume everything you hear! It happened before you started to work at the base... no one asked him what happened, why he did it."

"Enough! Sunstreaker back off."
"Obeying a human? Sounds like a stupid joke! Why don't you back off instead!" He shouted. "Lennox please you're upsetting him..." I lowered his gun. "Please..." we locked eyes for a brief second. "If you're so-called friends then why did he hurt you?" He snapped and pointed at my arm. "Sunstreaker didn't do this! He was helping take care of it—"

My stepfather cut me off. "Yeah right! And see should believe that!? That monster did that to you, why do you keep defending him?" He shouted. Sunstreaker wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me against his chest. "I would never hurt her... I didn't injure her arm..."

"We don't believe you! You're the only psychopath here..." my stepfather sneered. "True, I am a psychopath... and if it wasn't for her, I would have killed the entire base for locking me up... the only reason I haven't done that is because of Skylar! So I suggest you back off!"

My stepfather aimed his gun at him and loaded it. Sunstreaker took a battle stance, and opened his mouth to say something but my stepfather already fired. I don't know how many times, but Sunstreaker collapsed on the floor. "No! Why did you do it!" I shouted as I knelt down.

He got shot through his chest, Energon was leaking out. "Sunny..." I sobbed, holding him in my arms. He gasped for air while he looked me in the eyes before he shut his eyes and lost consciousness. I buried my face in his neck, crying. "Why did you do it!" I screamed and threw a class at them. "He did nothing... the only monsters here are you!" I shouted.

"He'll be fine, Skylar! It's just holoform!"
"No it's not just his holoform! It's his holomode because he didn't want anyone to spot his alt-mode or trace it! If he dies I'll loose both twins!" I screamed before looking down at Sunstreaker in my arms.

Optimus, Prowl, Ratchet and Sideswipe arrived. I got pulled away from Sunstreaker. My clothing and hands all under energon, it burned but because of it hat happened, I barely felt it. Sideswipe pulled me against his chest, trying to comfort me. "He did nothing! He just shot him!"

"Shhh, Skylar... it's gonna be okay."
"He's strong, he'll survive," Sideswipe added. "What if he won't be fine? Then it's all my fault..." Sideswipe brushed the tears off my face. "I'll lose you both... I can't lose you too..." I hugged him. "It's going to be fine..."

"You don't get it! I will never see him again... if they sent him to Diego Garcia, I will never seen him again." He brushed some more tears off my face and sat me down. "Did you tell them? Did you tell them truth?" I whispered. "I didn't... Your stepfather came home sooner than expected and I later learned he invited Lennox over. I was on a patrol, I had no idea otherwise I would have warned him."

"He's not a bad mech... He's hurt..."
Sideswipe pulled me in another hug again. "Skylar." I looked up to face Lennox and brushed some tears off my face. "What you did is not something we can forget. You're not welcome at the base anymore."

"I don't even want to visit the base anymore! I don't even want to see you ever again! It's all your fault he got hurt! You didn't want to listen!" I screamed. Sideswipe wrapped his arms around me. "Skylar... sweetspark, please, calm down."

I freed myself and ran up stairs, slamming the door closed and locked it. I curled up on my bed, crying. A silence remained as the Autobots had left. So many emotions overwhelmed me. Anger, sadness and worry. They assumed he hadn't changed and still is a monster. If they just listened to me. Just one minute to let me explain the situation, this might never happened.

My mom got home half an hour later and headed up stairs. "Honey?" She asked, knocking on the door. "Leave alone!" I sneered. "I'd like to talk..." she added. "What's there too talk about?" I snapped and brushed some tears off my face. "Leave me alone..." I added.

"Honey... I just want to talk to you about what happened."
I brushed some tears off my face. "There's nothing to talk about. He's gone..." I snapped. I heard her sigh. "Guess who shot him..." I snarled. "He was just worried..."
"Worried? Sunny was helping me! He wanted to talk..." I shouted. "Just go! Leave me alone!" I shouted.

I heard her sigh before she turned around and left me alone.
