Summer/Natasha's POV

I slowly woke up and opened my eyes. I stood up and walked to my closet, pulling out a pair of navy blue leggings from Old Navy and a dark gray sweatshirt.

I walked across the hall and showered, braiding my hair mess-ily. (I know it isn't a real word but it should be)

Then I went back to my room, tossed my dirty clothes in the laundry basket and walked down stairs.

Andrew was sitting on a bar stool scrolling through a website on his open laptop. I walked over and scooted onto the bar stool next to him.

"What cha lookin at?" I greeted him.

"Hey, just checking out the college's website. They have some pretty great classes but-" Andrew cut himself off.

"But, what?" I asked.

"But I don't know if I want to go. I-I always wanted to help others. You know. Protect. Be in the military. But I don't know if I want to. It would mean not seeing you guys a ton. Lots of risk obviously." Andrew rambled.

"What field would you want to serve in? There are multiple. You could be in Intel or air forces." I asked him.

"Air forces." Andrew replied without the slightest hesitation.

"Ground or air?" I asked.

"Ground." Andrew answered without hesitation.

"You could refill the gas and do repairs on air force planes or you could do the survival, invasion, resistance and escape." I told him.

"Survival one. I know nothing about planes." Andrew replied.

"Just by how quickly you answered I can tell how you want to do this. But I won't let you. I am not losing another family member to military." I told him sternly standing up and going to the pantry.

I grabbed the Cheerios cereal box and set it on the counter as Andrew said. "That's nice to know you care. But you just made me want to do it even more. Plus you can't stop me. I am legally an adult."

I turned and grabbed a bowl from the cupboard before turning and facing Andrew. "All I would have to do to stop you would be tell the officers who I was and what I needed." I told him.

"People already know who you are. Mom and Dad had to tell them to put Clark away. Everyone knows the famous Natasha Beverly is alive and living with us." Andrew told me.

I felt my brows furrow and I turned my attention back to my bowl. Then I poured cereal in the bowl and put it away before grabbing the milk.

I poured the milk in the bowl as Andrew watched me in silence. Then turning I grabbed a spoon from the drawer and sat back down at the island.

"Why didn't anyone tell me?" I asked taking a spoonful of cereal.

"Mom and Dad didn't want you to worry." Andrew answered.

"Well now I am worried because they tried protecting me from being worried." I said.

Andrew chuckled and stood. "Well, I won't get hurt. I promise." He said ruffling my hair and walking down stairs.

I glared down at my cereal. I was not hungry anymore. No doubt Clark had many followers and not all of them had been caught. I had to find some way to stop Andrew from joining the military and Clark's supporters.

But for now I needed to eat food. I ate my food in peace until the boys came down and started talking about everything we needed to do to make the most of the three weeks left in summer.

Bekka and Walter came down and Walter left for work. Bekka sat down to eat the eggs she had just cooked when her phone rang. The boys and I stopped talking so she didn't have to talk over us as she answered the phone.

"Hello, this is Bekka Whitlock." Bekka said into the phone.

She paused and then glanced at me. "I'm sorry, did you say Maxwell Beverly?" Bekka asked.

I saw the boys glance at me out of the corner of my eye but I kept my eyes trained on Bekka.

"Yes." Bekka said, "No she just got out." There was a pause.

"Schedule? Um hold on a moment." She said.

Bekka turned to me and spoke. "The bank called. It took some time but everything has been sorted out. They found a record of your father having a lockbox. In your father's will he said to give you the things in the lockbox. I don't know what's in there but we should at least schedule an appointment to find out. Would you want to?" Bekka asked me.

I paused and then nodded. Bekka nodded and spoke into the phone.

After a few minutes Bekka hung up and turned back to me. "Its scheduled for tomorrow. We'll go into the bank and you can get what is in the lockbox. If you don't want us knowing what it is then that's fine as long as it doesn't put you or anyone else in danger." She told me.

I nodded and placed my bowl in the dish washer before walking up stairs. My Dad had left something for me. I had no idea what it was or how to feel about it. I was happy, but sad. My Dad had left something for me, but he had known he would most likely die. I was excited, but worried. I wanted to know what was in the lockbox, but what if it had something to do with the tech. Then it would be putting people in danger again.

I sat on the edge of my bed and stared at my rug thinking about everything that could go wrong tomorrow. The mental list of things that could go right were few.

I was tired from all the thinking and stressing so I curled up on my bed and cuddled with Violet intending to continue thinking but I fell asleep before that happened.
