Amelia

3 weeks later

This had been the hardest and most challenging few weeks of my life.

Losing your parents is one thing, but to see your strong older sister become unrecognisable was something else. Giovanni, the bastard had tortured her to the point where she didn't even know her own name. He managed to strip away every piece of her until she was convinced that she was alone and had no-one.

But there is always light in the dark, you just have to use every ounce of strength to find it.

And that's what we did.

It wasn't easy, it wasn't pretty, but Sofia was starting to look like Sofia again.

Her skin was starting to look healthier, she was also gaining a bit of weight under the doctor's orders as she appeared malnourished. And after many sleepless nights, breakdowns and fights.

She had come back.

Picking up the tray with a plate of food on it, I nodded at the Elias standing watch and smiled thankfully as he opened the door for me without revealing himself to Sofia. He was still too scared to face her even though she was coming back to her usual self.

"Good morning" I muttered hoping to see Sofia awake, but she was fast asleep with her legs curled up to her chest. She must have kicked the blanket off her body during her sleep.

She always slept like a baby in a foetal position, but she was one hell of an ugly sleeper too.

"Can you snore any louder?" I teased as I placed the tray down on the bedside table. And like a dog, Sofia's nose started to wriggle and her eyes instantly shot open at the scent of food.

She glared at me as I imitated her snoring before bringing over the plate with scrambled eggs, bacon and 2 slices of toast.

She ignored my comment as she took the plate from my hands and began to eat the food.

Sitting down in the chair next to her bed, I watched as she wolfed down the food as if she hadn't eaten in days. There was still an innocence about her, but Giovanni hadn't won. She may still be fragile, but Elias told me he was going to take her back home tomorrow and introduce her to a world she had been secretly trained for without even knowing.

I wasn't sure on how I felt about it, but I knew once she discovered the whole truth, she'd want to take lead. Sofia was a boss, she had businesswoman blood in her veins. And I also knew she'd want revenge. She'd want to destroy Giovanni, just as he almost did with her.

"You're making so much progress Sofia, I can tell by your appetite" I teased as I received a shrug from Sofia.

And it was true, everyday she was getting stronger. She couldn't get out of bed much as she was recovering from a chest infection. But she was stubborn as hell and I caught her several times doing squats. Finn and Nora were also by her side everyday. Her memories of Giovanni torturing her were limited, but there was no pressure on making her remember it. I remembered the day Finn and Nora were reunited with Sofia when she remembered things. Giovanni, the prick made her believe that he had killed them. Ever since she found out they were very much alive, she refused to let a day go by without seeing them. She had to know where they were. But upon Elias' orders, we didn't tell Sofia that he had been the one to rescue her. There was no mention of Elias as of yet. To Sofia, all she was told that some men rescued us.

"Did you make this?" she asked as she placed down her knife and fork.

I looked down at my hands and fiddled with my fingers hoping she'd change conversation, but Sofia already had an intense look on her eyes.
