"The doctors are unsure if you can hear me or not, but I know you can. I have been beside you for over a week now and every single day you give me an indication of that fight within you. You've been through hell. You've suffered at the hands of evil people and yet you still put me above you. I will never be deserving of such a man, but I will spend every single day of my life loving you unconditionally. And as much as I want to stay beside you, there's one final thing I need to do. I promise you, I will come home to you. I love you".

Pulling away from Elias, I looked at the guards with stern eyes and watched as they bowed their heads whilst tightening their grip on their guns. Even though I hated the thought of leaving Elias, I knew he'd be safe.

Slipping my feet into my black stilettos, I picked up my gun and tucked it into the waistband of my skirt before throwing on my leather jacket.

Walking out of the room with one goal in mind, my heels clicked along with pristine floor that had been polished to perfection.

My dad was a clean freak. There was no speck of dust. He was a prissy house husband. We had cleaners, but I often found dad working away with his pink cleaning gloves to ensure everything was clean. Yet, he didn't care if Nora or Finn left out their toys or colouring books.

Dad was a man of simple tastes. He never said much about his childhood, but the reason he loves seeing toys around the place was because it made him happy. Happy to know that he gave us the childhood he never had.

Walking along the hallway, I stopped in front of my dad's office and knocked loudly. I used to stroll in acting like the boss I was. But after catching a rather intimate meeting between mum and dad, I never walked in unannounced.

"Come in" mum's voice called out from behind the door.

Not expecting to hear her, I twisted the handle and pushed open the door to find mum sitting in dad's boss chair with dad kneeling before her.

Looking between the loved up couple, I saw dad massaging her bare feet looking at her like a love sick puppy.

Who would have thought such a stern looking man would be the softest teddy bear for her and only her. Of course he was with us, but he literally worshipped the ground she walked on. There was no head of the family in ours. It was shared equally with both mum and dad. But dad always told us it was truthfully mum that was the boss.

She didn't take shit from anyone and I even had the privilege of witnessing a man twice her size shitting himself for trying to scam her. Let's just say, he'll have PTSD every time he hears her name.

Looking up at mum who looked like she was in pure heaven as she sipped on a carton of orange juice, she gave me a soft smile before running her long nails through dad's hair.

"What's going on?" I asked with a raised brow.

Dad looked at mum as if he was about to burst into rainbow glitter from pure happiness.

"You're pregnant?" I questioned mum and instantly knew the answer before she even opened her mouth. Her smile and the way dad was admiring her said it all.

"Yes sweetie. We have another little angel on the way" she smiled as she rested her hand on dad's which had made it's way onto her clothed stomach.

"Congratulations! I'm happy for you both. What are you hoping for. I know dad wants some more boys".

Dad chuckled and nuzzled his nose on mum's flat stomach.

"I don't care what sex our little one is, as long as they're healthy and safe".
