Here's a flashback into Mía and Kostas' past.
Chapter 12: The Past pt. 1
The midnight air was surprisingly warmer than the one back home. Although, it's only the beginning of spring it feels like the sweltering, hot summer here. It feels nice and exciting. Almost like a dream. Jazz, Titus, and I were no longer in New York, but in the true city that never sleeps.
We drove a great deal of miles through the beautiful desert after landing at the airport. Soon Titus' Mustang Shelby brought us to a huge flashing sign welcoming us to fabulous Las Vegas Nevada. We decided to stop and take some pictures with it like your typical group of tourists who visit this notorious city. Picture memorabilia filled with peace signs, silly faces, and outrageous poses would surely take up some space on my bedroom wall once we reach back home.
"Come on ladies, the fun don't start till we at the casino," Titus smirked, putting away his iPhone and hopping into the driver's side of the car.
"Yasssss, show me to the baccarat table and I'm set for life," Jazz squealed as she leaned back into her seat. "Who woulda thought that Titus would think of such a good idea like this?! I mean Vegas, wow!"
Titus playfully glared at Jazz. Jazz gave him a teasing smile.
"Shut up! Just be thankful y'all names crossed my mind when I had thousands of girls beggin' me to give them those plane tickets instead."
We sucked our teeth. "Please, you know we were you're first choice. There's no such thing as a fun night without us," I laughed as Jazz and I dapped it up like some regular ol' homeboys.
As we drove around the streets, we took the time to admire the bright flashing lights and other big attractions. We saw the Eiffel Tower, Planet Hollywood, that ever standing Ferris wheel, but the most amazing attraction to me were the shooting waters.
Soon enough, we reached the new casino Titus has been talking about for the longest. Once I observed it's interactions, I start to understand what's the hype about. The entrance was overcrowded with people. I was surprised, wasn't the grand opening a month ago? And it's still packing in customers like this? I smiled at Titus and Jazmyn and got out of the car.
We pushed our way through the masses of bodies taking up the entrance space, we wanted to get to the main attractions not look at the damn doors all night. Like seriously, what were they waiting for, Jesus to come back?! However, before Jazz and I can push the last of the crowd out of our way Titus pulls us back, halting our movement.
"Wait guys, before we walk any further," Titus whispered, leaning closer to us. He looked back and forth to make sure no one was taking surveillance. "Take your IDs."
Jazz and I both grabbed our fake IDs indicating that we were 21-years old. Really, we were each just 18, which is under the legal age for drinking and gambling. We knew this was wrong, but the whole idea of Vegas was just so enticing that we had to do this trip. Besides, it wasn't just any trip, it was our graduation trip. We saved up for months on end for gambling money and fresh threads. Titus and his parents promised to cover all of the other expenses...rich boy with the cool parents, I'm jealous.
I knew it was wrong and that anything could happen in this city-trust me, I heard stories-but we promised to be careful. Plus, with us sticking together nothing can go wrong. We won't keep any bad company, these three days will only be about bonding and having fun. No trouble tonight.
"Alright, where do we start?"

Right now, Jazz was on a roll at the craps table. She was winning chips like there was no tomorrow and lots of people cheered her on. Titus and I stood next to her jumping up and down, cheering and grinning till it felt like our faces were about to fall off and our knees were to give out.
