I'm sorry. I just got back into the groove of things. I haven't been on Wattpad in a minute until recent. I feel like some of the writers whose books I'm hooked on but they're on hiatus. But I'm hoping to get back on top of things.

Chapter 25: Wedding of the Century

The time was nearing. Our wedding ceremony was now simply a day away. Although the event was narrowing down to the hours, we were still residing in Nana's mansion. Kostas had some making up to do to her. I didn't sugarcoat it on the beach and I didn't sugarcoat it when we reached back that night. Kostas had clearly neglected his family, especially Nana.

His mother, father, brothers and sister may have swept it under the rug or forgave and forget—I don't know how they each personally dealt with it but it seems to have not bothered them—but Nana refused to let it be. And I agreed, her silence was a punishment well in order for his crime. Kostas hated the excruciating, pen-dropping silence. It was unusual from his Nana who always had an input on some matter or another. The next day he spent some time with Nana, they talked, but I don't think he truly made a breakthrough.

Her expressions never changed, her harsh tone refused to waver, yet her words spoke of forgiveness. Honestly it was confusing. I watched from the screen, looking at them sit in the back garden as they reveled in the beauty of the marble fountain. Ducks were swimming in the clear, cool waters. Nana ripped a loaf of bread to pieces and fed it to them.

"Remember when we used to do this when I was éna paidí , γιαγιά?" Kostas chuckled. His eyes looked yearningly to his Nana, who didn't bother to glance his way.

"Yes. Such a long time ago," she hummed.

Kostas nervously moved his fingers through his hair. "I know..."

"If I remember and you remember then why bother mentioning it then." Well shit. "In fact, why does it even matter?" Yeah she's angry.

Kostas blinked hard and gulped. "It does matter. It matters to me—" a scoff escaped her throat. "And I know it matters to you too, γιαγιά."

The ducks were consuming that bread like lions to fresh meat. Nana just threw it and threw it.

"You were right about me, γιαγιά...I'v-I've been a selfish bastard."

"Mhmmm." We could all sense she wanted him to go on with his self-bashing.

"For 2 years straight my head was only on the money and...the company. I didn't make my family a priority."

"Mhmmm?"

"And as a result I unknowingly made you all suffer—"
