Guys I love the interest you are showing and everything but please understand that y'all can't get mad at me—sure, you can be mad at the characters—if I don't write this book in the direction you'd want it to go. Suggestions are one thing but y'all know I can't resist begging😩 For one, the turn out would be too obvious and y'all would be disappointed in the end. Secondly, I HATE (yes, italicized, capitalized, and bolded) rushed books. There has to be progression not "oh this happened then THIS happened a second later!" A lot of writers do that and it's just stupid and unrealistic. So please if you guys are here to see effort and all that good stuff then read. Thanks.
Chapter 22: The Past pt. 3
"I'm sorry, baby," Kostas mumbled sending sweet kisses to my lips. I settled in his lap with a sigh and his kisses traveled down my neck. After the fight we had three days ago this was the first time we saw and spoke to each other. In all actuality the fight was really my fault, he had no reason to apologize.
Wednesdays and Thursdays were my day off from school so I took the liberty of coming over to Kostas's for a little R&R. I'd thought he'd need the same when thinking of how hard he worked even on weekends. I searched all over the mansion for him until one of the maids informed me that he was locked in his office...working. The anger wasn't quite there yet but I was slightly irritated.
I climbed up the stairs and walked to his office. I knocked. "Kostas? It's me Mía."
Within a few seconds the door opened and Kostas stood before me looking exhausted. His hair just about went over his eyes, shirt was buttoned down a button or two, and his tie was gone. God, how could he still look so handsome though? I'd be considered a horrific mess if it was me in that state.
His face mirrored confusion. "What are you doing here?"
I raised a brow. Okayyy, not the response I expected. At this point irritation became anger. "Well, I'm sorry I came to see if my boyfriend wanted to chill."
Mid-sentence he walked off into the room. How fucking rude.
"Look agápī mou, I do not have time to play right now, I'm busy with work and I have to take a flight to Hong Kong in," he checked the time on his watch. "Five hours."
"What? You're leaving? But you just got back from Canada!" My shoulder bag fell off my arm as they slumped with the weight of disappointment.
He ignored me and continued to deal with the work lying on his desk.
I sighed. "Then when is the next time you will be free?" I was embarrassed having to beg my own boyfriend to spend time with me. I sounded like a whining child— no, even worse, a lost puppy. I tried my best working through our inflexible schedules. Kostas, however, didn't give much effort in the matter. He was only comfortable with calls and FaceTime. A quick overview of our relationship and anyone would tell me straight to my face Kostas wasn't interested.
"I don't know," he mumbled nonchalantly. "Check my schedule and work it out." He handed me his phone, not taking an eye of his precious stack of messily scattered papers.
I scoffed. "Yes, Mr. Sarantos, as you so order." It was meant to be said under my breath, but guessing from the frozen hand movement and the scary, slow rise of his head, Kostas heard.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
Oh look, his face isn't in those papers anymore, my conscience mind smirked and nodded in approval...of myself.
"It means you want me to schedule our next meeting? As you wish, sir." The words flowing pass my lips as I mindlessly search through his calendar for a free day. What probably hit the nail on the coffin was the little bow I did as if I were some 17th century Englishwoman.
