You stepped out of the cab and breathed in the familiar sweet air of your hometown. It always seemed to smell like doughnuts for some reason around here. After finishing four years at Ithaca College getting your Bachelors, you really missed the place where you grew up, and didn't think twice about agreeing to move back to Pasadena when your boyfriend, Tyler, suggested it. Tyler had actually not grown up here, but he knew all about the city after spending a year and a half together. He seemed really excited to move here with you, and when his courses finished a couple of months ago, he surprised you by offering to come down himself and look for a place. You still had finals to finish so you joined the viewings via FaceTime, and when he finally found a place you approved of near the old cinema, you signed everything digitally. You were really excited to finally see it in person and start your life together.

But first, you were meeting the girls for lunch. Naeve, Shay and Amber. You were best friends in high school, and although there used to be a few other people in your 'gang', you four survived the test of time and kept in touch while you were at college. The moment you told them you were moving back, they planned a homecoming lunch at the best cafe in town. Well, the cheapest cafe in town that didn't give you food poisoning. It was an old favourite. You crossed the street heading over to the cafe, getting your phone out of your pocket to text Tyler that you wouldn't be long, when you suddenly crashed into something solid.

You stumbled back, your phone flying out of your hands, and a loud 'oof' came out your mouth. You were about to apologise profusely, when you looked up and saw ...

"Bucky?!" You squealed, a little louder than you wanted to. You stared up at the boy you knew from from high school, who was looking at you with a face full of amusement, except he now looked like an absolute wet dream. His hair had grown out a little, his chin was full of dark beard stubble, and his blue eyes were still bright and striking like you remembered. He was clearly filling out the black long sleeve top he was wearing, his biceps stretching the fabric of the flannel shirt layered over it. His dark jeans housed thick thighs that made your mouth water, and for a second, you were pulled back to your 17 year old self drooling over the hot football player.

"Luka? Is that really you?" He smiled at you, and of course, his smile was absolutely perfect, beaming down at you.

"Yeah, hi! My god I...didn't expect to see you?!" You replied, as he bent down to pick up your phone. "Sorry, I'm awful for texting and walking."

"Don't worry. What are you doing here? I thought you went off to college?" He asked politely, still smiling at you and you couldn't help feeling shy around him. Just like you were 17 again. Except you weren't 17 anymore, and you had a boyfriend.

"Yeah..." You laughed. "Finished college, back to get a job. Got a place by the cinema with my boyfriend." For some reason you felt like you had to mention Tyler, as though it would be wrong not to.

"Didn't want to stay in your new city? Be an independent woman and all?" He winked as he played with your phone in his hands. God damn.

"There are some things I missed too much. Maybe I'll go back in a few years." You smiled.

"Well," He looked down at your phone and tapped it against his palm a couple times. "If you wanna catch up properly while you're here, I can give you my number?" He held your phone out for you, and you took it slowly, a smile creeping over your face.

"Yeah, would love to." You unlocked your phone and handed it back to him to put his number in. He did it quickly, handing it back to you and giving you a beautiful smile as you shoved it back in your pocket.

"Talk soon." He said, stepping to the side and gesturing the way to the cafe a little dramatically. You laughed and waved as you walked to the doors. Looking back over your shoulder, you caught his eye as he was walking backwards, clearly watching you. You smiled at him again and pushed the doors open to meet your friends.
