Chapter 4 - System Update?

Location: Forest
(Damien POV)

As I walked out of the gate, I see that the forest isn't black and white anymore.

Damien: Time must be moving now in the RWBY world. Hey, EVE. Why was the First Hassan even in the Beginner Dungeon? ... EVE?

Seeing that she wasn't responding back to me, I checked on EVE.

Damien: So there is even a system update, huh? Well, hopefully, nothing happens when it's updating.

I started to find food to eat since I was hungry from that Dungeon. As I was finding food, I remembered.

Damien: Oh yeah, the drops and EXP from the boss. Gotta check that out after the update. Also, that power I felt in my stomach, I think it was mana, but again, I'll wait for EVE to update first.

Location: Forest
(3rd POV)

After Damien ate some fruits and berries he found, which look and tastes like normal fruit and berries from Earth, he was started to exercise even though there isn't any quest cause he was bored. Suddenly, his senses started to tingle. He looked around and saw that he was surrounded by 6 beowolves. He tried to summon 'Rebellion' but it did not appear on his hand. He got confused on why it didn't appear when he realized that since EVE was updating, that means that the features of the system didn't work. He started to panic as one of the beowolves pounced at him. Instinctively, he dodged the attack and punched it with full power, cracking its skull and killing it instantly. Shocked, he theorized that his stat points remain even though EVE was updating. With that information, he felt more confident as the beowolves started to attack him.

The first beowolf tries to slash him with its claws but he just jumped back, dodging the swipe. He then went up to its face and punched it, killing it in one blow. The second one tried to sneak-attack him but with his high SENSE stat, he knew that it was flanking him. He sidestepped the attempt and kicked it with his right leg, sending it flying. The third and fourth beowolves were smarter. They attacked at the same time, though their coordination was lacking. He noticed and took advantage of it as he immediately kneed one of the beowolves in the face, killing it as he turned his attention back to the other beowolf. It panicked and tried to slash him but he redirects it to a tree. He slams his fist into the beowolf, his arm went through the Grimm's body as it starts to fade into ashes. The last beowolf attempted to lunge at him but Damien just dodges the attack and brings up his left leg. By the time the beowolf recovered from the attack, it was too late as Damien axe kicks the last remaining beowolf. 

Damien heaves a sigh of relief as he leans on a tree before sliding down it, sitting on the ground resting from the fight. After a few minutes passed by, a voice familiar to him rang in his head.

Damien: What the-? EVE? But that voice, it's Salter's voice?!

Damien: Well, that is true. Looking at the screen when in a fight is dangerous. But why 'Master'?

| Saber Alter refers to Fujimaru as his 'Master' since she was his 'servant', and I saw the similarities so I will call you Master from now on. |
