Chapter 13 - Rogue Troll

(3rd POV)

The next morning, Ron and Hermione, minus Damien because he was in the kitchen, were being filled in by Harry about the package that seemed to have been moved from Gringotts to Hogwarts, and they spent a lot of time wondering what could need such heavy protection.

Hermione: It's either really valuable or really dangerous

Ron: Or both.

They wondered what was in there while walking to the Gryffindor Table.

Food cooked by Damien appeared in front of them before they even sat down. 

Ron: Damien really wakes up early, no? To cook for 6 people.

Hermione: He usually wakes up at 4 in the morning to work out and cooks for my parents and me before Hogwarts.

Harry: Speaking of which, how did you meet him, anyway?

Hermione: Well, it was quite funny, actually. You see-

She got interrupted when a dozen of owls were carrying 2 large boxes. The dozen soared down and dropped them both right in front of him. Before the 2 parcels hit the table, however, 2 hands caught it just in time.

Damien: These 2 parcels are huge.

Hermione: Oh, maybe it's your new broomstick.

Harry tried to rip the parchment paper off but was stopped by Damien. He gave Harry a letter which he opens and reads out to the three. 

DO NOT OPEN THE PARCEL AT THE TABLE.
It contains yours and Mr. Ren's new Nimbus Two Thousands, but I don't want everybody knowing you've got a broomstick or they'll all want one. OliverWood will meet you two tonight on the Quidditch field at seven o'clock for your first training session.

Professor McGonagall

Ron: A Nimbus Two Thousand! I've never touched one.

Damien: Want me to borrow you the broom, Ron?

Ron: Yes, please!

Hermione: Honestly, Damien. You're spoiling them both.

Damien: That doesn't include you?

Hermione blushed as she smacked my arm.

We left the hall quickly, Harry and Ron wanting to unwrap the broomstick in private before their first class, 

Damien: Honestly, what is the difference between the broomsticks? It looks the same except for the colors-

Crabbe and Goyle blocked the entrance hall as Draco seized the package from Harry and felt it.

Draco: That's a broomstick. You'll be in for it this time, Potter, first years aren't allowed them.

Ron: It's not any old broomstick. It's a Nimbus Two Thousand. What did you say you've got at home, Malfoy, a Comet Two Sixty? Comets look flashy, but they're not in the same league as the Nimbus.

Ron remarked as Draco snapped.

Draco: What would you know about it, Weasley, you couldn't afford half the handle. I suppose you and your brothers have to save up twig by twig.

Before Ron could shot back, Professor Flitwick appeared 

Not arguing, I hope, boys?

Draco: Potter and Ren's been sent a broomstick, Professor.

Flitwick: Yes, yes, that's right, Professor McGonagall told me all about the special circumstances, Potter. And what model is it?

Harry: A Nimbus Two Thousand, it is... And it's really thanks to Malfoy here that I've got it.
