Soon, the rumors about the prince and princess who can defeat Shiro were made known and the people hoped that they might succeed when they heard about it.
However, it eventually bothered Shiro upon hearing about it and he made sure the decree of total commitment from the people to keep their loyalty for him is strictly implemented to be given. He gave orders and rules and made more people suffer excluding those who fully pledged allegiance to him.
During their separate journeys, Kaejo and Hail managed to meet another ally with them who was a prince from the other kingdom who was betrayed by his people and was sold to Shiro but he escaped.
Together, they proceeded to head to the forbidden cave and they eventually became well-acquainted with each other.
And one cold night, the princess with Fire, Erice, and Ryel, spent the night in the woods not very far from a pond. During her sleep, the princess was awoken several times until she decided to take a stroll not very far from where they stayed despite her knowing how risky it would be.
She took her sword and headed to the pond and knowing that no one was around, she decided to get a drink from it but then she was dragged by someone from behind who covered her mouth and brought her behind the bushes.
When she struggled against the unknown person, she managed to bring him down on the ground and she put her sword's blade steady on his neck while her left hand tightly grasps on his arms.
Out of the shadow came an arrow that nearly struck the princess if only the guy whom she was dealing with did not deflected it with his sword.
The princess released the guy and she even pointed her sword at him when she heard a girl's voice speaking behind her warning her that she might get shot by an arrow if she dared to hurt the guy.
"It's okay, Hail. Put down your bow."
The guy said revealing his face under the light of the moon and the princess widened his eyes upon seeing Kaejo before him.
"I am glad that you found the necklace then~"
"You're okay?!"
The princess retreated her sword and Hail ran beside Kaejo seeing the face of the princess and she apologized for aiming at her.
They then heard some of Shiro's men who came at the pond and drank water. It was the reason why the princess was dragged to hiding by Kaejo earlier.
However, their presence was still spotted and Fire and the others came and helped them fight along with their reunion.
"Let's get along everyone."
Kaejo said when Hail and Ochre introduced themselves. Erice wasn't comfortable with Hail at the first two days they were together in their journey but they managed to get along after Hail saved her when they were ambushed by some of Shiro's men and they still escaped.
