The Todoroki Child

Chapter 4

Dabi POV

I can't believe my eyes. my little sister, who I haven't seen since we were kids, is right here, in front of me. Through a screen, but still. 

"D-dabi?"Fuyumi says. 

right.

she doesn't know who I am. she still thinks of me as Dabi, the famous villain from the league. "How do you know my name?" she asks. I try to think of an excuse.  Toga told me. or, from your little brother. but none of those will work. luckily for me, Haruto responds.

"Your zoom name," he says. "Ok..." Fuyumi says, not totally sure what to do. "But that doesn't explain why there's a villain in your house, Haruto. or why you look like my brother."

"D-doesn't your brother have red-and-white hair?" I ask, pretending that I didn't know who she was talking about.

See, I never told Haruto about my siblings. Of course, he knew that I am really Touya, but he didn't know that I had siblings. I never saw a reason to tell him. It's not like he'd ever meet them... at least, that's what i thought. but here I am, struggling to keep my little sister from knowing that I was her older brother and instead trying to get her to think that I am a murderer from the league of villains. 

Fuyumi shook her head. "I mean my older brother. Haruto has his hair. and his wings are made of blue fire, which was his quirk. say, isn't that your quirk as well?" she was starting to catch on.

"Um..." I say.

Fuyumi sighs. "Alright, we need to talk. kids, class is ending early today, I'll post some asynchronous work in a bit. Haruto, Dabi, you stay."

the rest of Haruto's class log off the zoom meeting. Haruto doesn't. 

"Alright, I want an explanation." Fuyumi says once everyone else is gone. "Are you really Touya?" I just nod my head, knowing that there isn't a way out of this. "Ok," she says, clearly surprised but trying to stay calm. "then who is Haruto?" I was hoping she wouldn't ask about him. 

Then, the worst possible thing right now happens.

Keigo walks into the room.

"HAWKS??" Fuyumi practically yells his name. 

"uh... what's going on?" Keigo asks. "Fuyumi knows I'm Touya," I tell him. he nods. "Ok...does she know-" "No," I cut him off, not wanting him to give anything away. 

"Why is hawks here- and don't make up some stupid lie. I want the truth."

Keigo and I exchange a look. we both know that there's no getting out of this.

So we decide to explain everything.

I tell Fuyumi how I faked my own death and ran away from home. how I met Keigo. how we had Haruto. how we've been hiding ever since. 

Fuyumi listens carefully to everything I say, and promises she won't tell anyone as long as she gets to meet Haruto. she is his aunt, after all.

we agree to this, and Fuyumi says she will come over on friday. 

I can't decide whether this is good or bad.

"Haruto?" Fuyumi says after we finish talking. "Yes?" Haruto says. "Check google classroom- I posted your work," Fuyumi winks, then ends the meeting.
