-Your POV-
Hydra. We had found another one of their bases, and this one seemed larger than the typical base. Steve told us becuase of its size, we shouldnt rush into it immediately.
We were in a helicopter, discussing the plan "Obviously, Clint you will give the check ins, and start running them when you get in position. Natasha, (Y/N), and Wanda you will be escorted in by me. Best case Wanda doesnt have to use her powers, and will mostly be there just for support. Tony and Vision will be starting to destroy the outside, and I will join them after you three get in. Bruce, obviously stay here unless absolutely necessary, and if anyone gets to badly injured, return to the rendezvous, and get treated by Bruce and his assistant." He went over, to which Tony whined about already knowing the plan.
It would have been annoying, but it brought a little bit of a calm air to hear that Tony wasnt worried about it. I was a little nervous, since it was one of my first huge missions, and I couldn't help but fiddling with my hands, pinching the palms of them to distract myself.
Natasha seemed to notice, as she set her hand down on my leg "It will be fine. We've done plenty of missions like this. Wanda and I have your back." She said, smiling.
She had been a sister to me since I was taken in by shield. We were both raised in similar 'programs', so she often doted on me a bit. She was like a big sister to me.
I let out a deep breath as we landed, knowing that there was still a bit of a drive over to ensure complete suprise. I pulled off my buckle, grabbing Natasha's hand as we walked to the van. The drive was much shorter, and we soon stopped and stepped out. It was snowing. Which wasnt suprising, since Hydra liked to set up their bases in cold climates to decrease the likely hood of someone stumbling opon it.
Steve, Wanda, Natasha, and I made our way to the building, hearing Clint chime off "Eye in the sky is in position" he said, and I could practically hear his grin
"The girls are at the door. Stark, Vision, be on extra alert for their entry." Steve said, starting to punch in the code Jarvis stole a few days ago.
We got in, and Steve initiated the attack.
Alarms blared, but they seemed to be a bit more in the distance than I expected.
As we passed through the corridors, and knocked out a few guards on the way we reached the main control room.
Natasha started to extract the data while I glanced around the room "Is it extra warm in here? Or is that just me?" I ask quietly, though there should be no issue with me being loud
"I think it is a little warm, but maybe its just becuase we came in from a blizzard." Nat comments, and I nod, returning to her side
"Almost done." She says as im about to ask "Dont worry, everything is going according to plan." She says, ruffling my hair gently
I smile, hearing Steve on the radio "They have given up on fighting back, since they know they are compromised. But stay on alert still, there may be some extremists that will continue to fight."
Natasha pulls the hard drive full of information out of the main system, turning to walk out the door "We have the data. I will send Wanda out to deliver it while (Y/N) and I will look for any prisoners, and...Expiramented on people."
Wanda takes the hard drive, and quickly made her way out.
Natasha and I went past quite a few rooms until we found someone, chained up in a sound proof room.
I made my way in, setting aside my gun "Hey, im here to help, okay?" I ask them, slowly approaching.
I had rescued a few people from Hydra bases, and something in my gut told me it was...off.
My suspicions were confirmed after I removed their restraints, their hands grasping over my ears.
I scream out in pain as I feel like multiple bombs were just set off besides me, a sharp pain running through my ears and brain.
I struggled to push the person's hands off, feeling something warm slip down my earlobes.
Suddenly they fall back, and I open my eyes to see a bullet hole through their head.
I try to catch my breath, realizing that I had been screaming. I turn to face Natasha, her mouth moving, but no words came out.
I teared up, my ears still ringing "Nat..." I try to cry out, getting closer to her.
She reaches her hands up to my ears gently, her face showing worry and a bit of confusion.
I held onto her, sobbing against her shoulder.
That was all I remembered until I passed out.
When I did wake up, had expected to see something. My head was covered in bandages, blocking my vision as well.
My hand was shaking as I pulled them off, noticing a few people watching me. Wanda was asleep in the chair, and Natasha was at the foot of my bed.
Natasha gently grabbed my hand, holding out a notebook [Bruce said that you probably wouldn't be able to hear that well, or at all. Dont worry, im sure Clint will happily help you adapt.]
I smile weakly, calming my hand before writing [How long was I out? And the mission?] I got down before handing the notebook back
[It was about five days. The mission went fine. Dont worry about that, just take care of yourself.] She wrote back, turning to talk to Bruce, waking up Wanda in the process.
She was quick to hug me, and I took a moment to process the gesture before hugging back. I quickly found myself crying into her embrace, feeling comforted by the warmth.
She knew how I felt, and I always knew that often she would take a peep to know how to comfort others.
It was nice to be able to have moments be so soothing, but it also made me feel tired again.
