-Your POV-

I started to write on my whiteboard for Deacon, while he slowly learned sign language. He was NOT a fast learner. At all. But it seemed like he was trying, so I couldn't get too upset about that.

Deacon brought over two cups of coffee to the couch I was seated at, handing one to me before he sat down, carefully, with his own. He took a few sips before setting the cup down, replacing it with the white board. [We should go out somewhere. You haven't been out without a big group like ever. Or thats what my report said.]

I shake off the gross feeling of the fact that S.H.E.I.L.D collected data like who I go out with, and where. I suppose it was just a part of being an Avenger. Even if I didn't go on the more public missions when I could. I preferred to not have any publicity.

[That would be fine, as long as Natasha approves. But why the sudden interest?] I wrote down, pulling out my phone and drafting a text to Nat.

He seemed to become nervous as he wrote [There's a new computer that got restocked nearby, and I want to go buy it. But I cant really leave you unsupervised.]

I smiled, amused by the reasoning. I held up my phone to show him Nat's message of approval--and message to remind us to be careful--before I went to go put on shoes.

Deacon tossed me a light sweater as I headed back over to the elevator, it flopping over my head. I pulled it down, sending him a playful glare, slipping it on nonetheless. It was quite comfy anyways, and I didnt want to go out without some sort of extra pockets. I slipped my phone into one of the pockets, making sure it was secure enough before moving to grab the car keys. I didnt know which car yet, since I opted to not 'claim' a car, and just take a random key from the car key bowl, and take whatever car it went with. I need to remind Tony to actually catalog all his cars sometime. Maybe put the keys up on hooks, like in some sort of organized manner or something. Just a crazy thought.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Deacon set his hand on my arm, pulling it a bit, twords the elevator. He tilted his head twords it, wordlessly ushering me to hurry up so we could leave.

He went on his phone as the elevator started it's descent, so I quickly pulled my phone out and texted both Clint and Natasha that I was going out, before texting Loki, asking if he wanted any new books while I was out.

Natasha sent a photo of Clint tied up and upside down, along with her giving a thumbs up while Clint gave a half way up one. I smiled, saving it before I put away my phone, and stepped off the elevator.

Deacon checked us out of security, and as we left the building a cat made its way over to us and started to rub against my leg. I crouched down, gently petting it, feeling it pur under my hand. Deacon went to go pet it, and got swatted at before the cat hopped up on my shoulders. I slowly stood up, scratching the cat under its chin gently before Deacon caught my attention again, holding up his note pad 'Does the cat come around often?'

I took the pad, scribbling down my message while trying to stay still for the cat 'I dont know, but I saw Natasha bring cat food out around here a few times, so maybe she feeds it.'

Deacon nodded, starting to walk twords out destination. "Wanna come with us kitty?" I whispered to the cat, scratching under its chin. It purred at the scratches, moving to lay on my shoulders instead if standing.

I caught up with Deacon, careful to not be too unstable so the cat could stay laying 'What, you're bringing it?' Deacon write down .

'I mean yeah, its cute, and seems chill. I was half thinking of asking the team if we could bring it in and keep it.' I told him, scratching the cat's head gently.

'You'd have to name it. Probably take it to alot if vet visits too.' He reminded me, making me huff a bit 'I know the responsibilities of keeping a cat, thank you'

I continued to pet the cat while we ride the bus, pondering a name to pick "What about Mischief? You remind me of someone mischievous." I whisper to the cat, who purrs in response "Mischief it is."

We get off the bus, and into a large-ish mall. Deacon pulls me to their main technology area, looking around frantically for something. He stopped at this one laptop, grinning like a child as he picked up one of the boxes, paying for it promptly.

'Sorry, I got excited. Since we're here, do you wanna maybe get some food?' he wrote down, handing me the note.

'Yeah! But they gotta be cat friendly.' I tell him, managing to brush down Mischief's tail as it flicked next to my head.

Deacon started to write another note while we got seated and orderer, sliding it over to me as the waitress walked away 'Why dont you talk vocally? It would be easier for me to learn if you talked while signing. Also I think some of the others would want to hear it, it's strange for a person to be so quiet.'

I read it over a few times, slumping in my seat a bit 'Because I dont know what I sound like, and like I cant tell if I mess up my words or anything.'

'Then you talking during lessons would be even more helpful, I can correct you if you mess up' He write down before we got our food, not pressuring for an answer immediately as he bit into his sandwich.

'Ill think on it.'
