"Are you sure there is no problem, father?" a young man asked his father as he gathered his books for the day. Tahara Kazuya was twenty-two years old and he was studying Computer Science in one of the most prestigious universities in Japan.

"No problem at all," the old man reassured his son, "I will come late tonight, there are leftovers in the fridge."

"Okay," Kazuya wore his sneakers and a jacket before getting his backpack, "see you later then," he waved his hand and left for the university.

Behind his son, Tahara Junkichi rubbed his face tiredly and got a picture frame from the coffee table. It was a picture of three, happy parents holding a five year old boy in an amusement park. Caressing the woman's face dearly, the old man mumbled, "don't worry, Miyako, I will find a way."

He hoped with all his heart for the meeting in the evening to be fruitful. Otherwise, bad days would be around the corner.

Putting the frame back, the old man got his bag and left the house with a heavy heart.

Kazuya smacked down a blue file on the dining table with an angry expression. "What does it mean?" he almost yelled at his father, "it says you are cut thirty percent of the salary! For the last two months!"

Tahara Junkichi looked at his son apologetically while cursing himself inwardly for leaving the file on his desk. "It is just for a few months, the company is not doing good for the time being," he explained the situation with a low voice.

"Bullshit! It is one of the most profitable companies in Japan!" the young man shouted and started to pace the living room to cool his head down. Then he sat in front of his father, "do you want me to check the company?" he asked with a serious tone.

"No!" the old man shouted, "you promised me not to hack into any computer system."

Kazuya sighed heavily and drooped his head. He knew he shouldn't have given such a promise, but when he showed his mastery skills to his father five years ago, the old man forced him to give that promise in exchange for letting him study Computer Science.

As hacking was out of the question, Kazuya brought his computer and made a quick legal search and turned the computer towards his father.

"They are doing great, not even hiding it," Kazuya said softly, "they are in that position thanks to their employees' hard work, so you shouldn't accept such a treatment."

"Kazuya!" Tahara Junkichi shouted as soon as he entered the house, but there was no reply. Overwhelmed with anger, he called his son, but again there was no reply. As there was nothing he could do, he slumped onto the sofa, guilt and anger gnawing at him.

When Kazuya finally came back home, it was already dark outside. "Father?" he asked with worry as he turned on the lights and his father's dejected existence became visible.

"Kazuya," the old man stood up and walked towards his son, "is it true that you dropped out of university?"

Kazuya fidgeted uncomfortably, but nodded nonetheless.

The old man grabbed his son's shoulders desperately, "how could you do that?! I told you I would find a way out," he said with a hint of pain in his voice.

"We can't find a way out, father," the young man sighed, "it has been four months, but nothing changed! You are even fired, not even allowed to retire!"

"But-"

"No buts," Kazuya didn't let his father finish, "we need money and it is me who needs to earn it. Let me take care of you like you took care of me until now."

"No, I won't allow that, you need to finish your studies," the old man tried to talk some sense to his son, but the latter was too determined to listen to him.

"I already know what they are teaching, it is a waste of time," Kazuya said aloofly, omitting the part that they didn't have money to pay the university fee.

"It is wrong..."

"I don't care, I had already talked with the boss of the cafe. He said I can work as a full-timer. The salary is not that high, but it is better than nothing."

Junkichi heaved a sigh and let go of his son's shoulders, "we talked to the lawyer, he said we are sure to win the lawsuit. When we get the money, you will go back to university, understood?"

"Okay," Kazuya answered, but actually he had no hope at all. It had been four months and one hundred and fifty employees didn't get anything for their struggle. They talked to the company, organized protests, used the media, sued the company... Nothing worked and in the end they all lost their jobs without compensation.

"The most anticipated trial finished a few minutes ago and KCG was acquitted from all charges. Mr. Yamada, the lawyer representing one hundred and seven employees stated that it was not a fair trial and they will apply for an appeal."
