I got adapted to my new job rather quickly. I was responsible for maintaining and updating the programs and databases, and writing new codes as required for the customers. As I was a computer genius, it was nothing hard. I was also fortunate in terms of colleagues as they weren't interested in anything but computer related stuff.

Finally, I felt as though the world started to claim me back.

Like that, one month passed and I got my first salary. As Yusuke was the reason why I got the job -he and Saito-san were highschool friends-, I decided to buy another banana cake roll. Now, I wasn't that hostile towards Yusuke as my anger and pain were getting mitigated.

Well, maybe it was too early to declare something like this.

When I went into the patisserie, my gaze stuck onto the TV screen as there was a picture of Yamamoto on the news... He was the founder/owner of KCG. On the red banner under the screen was written:

Yamamoto Seiji got clear from all accusations regarding KCG with the loss of crucial evidence from the police department.

My breath hitched and I felt dizzy. Loss of evidence? Bullshit! They just got rid of the evidence to save his old ass!

I left the shop, running. If the police were covering the case, then I would give his punishment. KCG was already bankrupt, so all I had to do was to reach his personal accounts.

As I was too absorbed in my plans, I didn't even notice when I reached Yusuke's house. I kicked off my shoes and rushed in to grab Yusuke's laptop, but to my dismay Yusuke was home, sitting on the sofa with the laptop on his knees.

"Kazuya-san..." he uttered, seeing my dishevelled self.

I didn't say anything, instead rushed to him and grabbed the laptop. With his policeman reflexes, he caught the other end, preventing me from snatching it from him.

"What are you planning to do?" he asked, his black orbs boring into my soul.

"The thing the incompetent rotten police didn't do," I yelled at him and pulled the laptop, but he pulled it back again.

"Didn't you learn your lesson?!" he made a rapid hand move and saved the laptop from my hand, then he threw it to the sofa, away from me, "the first time you were lucky, but this time your life will be ruined completely!" he yelled at me, his hands tight around my shoulders.

"I DON'T CARE!" I fidgeted restlessly, "I WILL FINISH HIM FOR GOOD THIS TIME!"

"STOP ACTING LIKE A KID!" Yusuke also shouted while shaking me by my shoulders, then he took a deep breath and continued with a calmer tone, "it will only ruin your life, you can't win this fight."

"I CAN AND I WILL!" I refuted his words. It was an easy job for me and I didn't have to get caught.

"Suck it up and grow up!" Yusuke shook me again, but with more vitality, "do you want to be Robin Hood of hackers?! Wake up! It will only make you a criminal!"

"THE REAL CRIMINALS ARE THE POLICE! YOU ARE SO ROTTEN THAT I FEEL LIKE THROWING UP!"

Slap!

I froze on my spot as my cheek felt the pain of Yusuke's slap. That bastard had the audacity to slap me!

"Not every policeman is rotten," he said coldly and bent my arm backwards, pushing me towards the room forcefully after he got my phone from my pocket. Although I was more built-up and taller compared to him, I was helpless under his grip.

"Let go!" I kept yelling, but he didn't mind me. He threw me inside the room and then I heard the click of the key.

Not only did he slap me, but also he locked me inside the room! Tyrant!

Brimming with anger, I punched the door until I was out of strength. With my throbbing hands from punching and throbbing cheek from humiliation, I slumped onto the ground, my back against the door.

All night long, I sat in that position, in ultimate desperation.

When the sun was high in the sky, Yusuke finally decided to let me go. I learned the reason soon after. That bastard Yamamoto already left the country! My chance was gone!

"Are you happy now?" I asked with a tone cold as ice and he averted his gaze.

"I did it to help you," he said as if I cared. I grabbed my phone from the table and left the house without even changing my clothes. Good thing it was Saturday, so I didn't have to go to work with that state of mind.

I wandered around the busy streets without a destination. My mind was muddled while my heart was heavy with the excessive amount of negative emotions. I was angry, disappointed, resented, sad, apologetic... at the same time. As a result, I felt suffocated without a remedy.

I was useless and desperate. Even when I hated Yusuke to my very core, at the end of the day, I had to go back to his house as I neither had the money to find a place nor had somebody to ask for help.

When I went back to Yusuke's house, he wasn't around, but there was food on the table. I let out a pained chuckle as he was aware that I had nowhere to go other than his house. I left the food untouched and went to the room, this time I locked it from inside.

As I was drained, I drifted off to sleep soon and didn't even hear when Yusuke came.
