After the war

The Togruta's body settled into the ground outside her birth home on Shili. Rex, Cody, Ash, and Barriss all stood solemnly as their dear friend was buried underneath piles of dirt, never to be seen again. They had chosen somewhere where no one would ever disturb her again. It was the resting site of Shaak Ti, after her body had been abandoned by the Empire, when a fellow Togruta had found it and felt that she deserved a proper burial.

The Ghost crew was gone. Kanan had died shortly before the liberation of Lothal and was being mourned, his body being consumed by the flames. Hera and Rex had become good friends, especially during the battle of Endor with Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, and his twin sister General Leia Organa and the former smuggler, Han Solo and his partner General Lando Calrissian. Anakin Skywalker had saved his son from the Emperor, and his body had burned in the Ewok's forest.

Just for a moment, Rex could have sworn he saw three ghostly figures of Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Master Yoda glittering in the night sky. And then a fourth had appeared- a Togruta, smiling, long white and blue striped montrals flowing down her body. She was smiling, her sky-blue eyes looking directly at Rex.

He found closure in the fact that his cyare was safe and that she was reunited with the people she considered her father and older brother.

Ezra was gone. Zeb was staying on the world of Lira-San with former ISB agent, Agent Kallus. Sabine had left shortly after the Battle of Endor, off to search for Ezra, wherever he may be. Ezra's out there, she'd said, and it's time to bring him home.

Rex had said he was too old to go. And he had duties as an uncle and a godfather to fulfill. There, beside Barriss, stood his young niece, Ash. Her curved lightsaber had element's of Ahsoka's, most notably the diamond markings engraved on the hilt. She was a good fighter and was ten years old now, fluent in Togruti, Mando'a, and Basic.

Cody was enjoying a simple life with Barriss, out of reach of the New Republic or the remains of the Empire. And Rex, well Rex was happy being an uncle to Ash and a godfather to Hera and Kanan's little boy, Jacen Syndulla.

Jacen was smart, with green hair and the face shape of his late father and, even at his young age, he had some of the flying skills of his mother.

Rex turned back to Ahsoka's grave. He took a step forward just as the last pile of dirt was lifted by the force of her orange face, her arms folded over her chest and her eyes closed peacefully. He closed his eyes, breathing deeply as he set his old clone helmet marked with dark blue jaig eyes on the spot where she lay.

He spoke in Mando'a when saying his final goodbye to her. "I can't wait to see you again, sweetheart," he murmured as he took a step back. Taking a shaky inhale, he said his last words to Ahsoka. "Farewell, my love."

A/N:

Okay, so this book is done now. It was short, and I know that Ahsoka gets killed a lot in these sort of stories, but I have been working on a High School AU that I hope to get published soon and Ahsoka will.... read it to find out! Okay, that can be annoying, I know, but please read it. You guys are the best and it's so nice to see all of your supportive comments and it's definitely making my day better.

It's called "Welcome to Coruscant Heights", so please check it out once I've published it. Thank you all for the support, reads, and votes. You're the best!
