Worthy | Chizome Akaguro x Reader

As a hero, it was expected to not be respected by the renowned hero killer Stain. When you encountered him, he seemed indifferent towards you, yet he had murdered several of your colleagues because they hadn't been "worthy". Unless, it was a plan to make you let your guard down.

Which it had been. Moments later, the anti-hero launched at you swiftly as he gave you a cut. It wasn't a fatal wound for some reason. His leg slid down to one of his sides, squating of some sorts, his left hand on the ground to maintain balance. His other, dominant hand held the sword he bad cut you with, licking your blood. You flinched and laid there, helplessly. Was this the end?
"Geez, you didn't put up much of a fight...Still...I've decided not to kill you. Next time we meet, it'll turn out different." You breathed out a sigh of relief, quickly regaining control of your body. Stain tried to trot off, but you grabbed him and pulled him back. "What? I just spared you, you incompetent hero."
"Why are you sparing me? What are your true intentions?" Stain heaved a heavy sigh. It was almost as if he was obeying your every command.
"Look, I don't want to kill someone like you. Not right now atleast, I'm an anti-hero. Now let me go before I actually kill you. Comeback when you think you're worthy, idiot hero." He walked off. You ran after him, yelling at him.
"Huh? Excuse me!" He had already disappeared. You shook your head and angrily huffed.

What does he even mean by, "worthy"?
