If you're my girl, swirl me around your room with feeling
And as we twirl, the glow in the dark stars on your ceiling
Will shine for us, as love sweeps over the room
'Cause we tend to make each other blush, you make me blush
We walked down a hall full of poster of bands or celebrities. There was poster's from the 80's, 90's and so forth. David opened a door.
"This is what it feels to be in a recording studio." I said in awe.
The walls were red and the carpet black. Two gray chairs sat in front of the equipment. A gray couch sat on the back wall, facing the equipment and booth. A coffee table with a bowl full of mints sat in front of the couch. The booth had wood paneling, that foam stuff to collect the sound, and wood flooring. A mic sat in the middle. Instruments sat on the walls.
"Hey, Adam." Said a dude, sitting in front of recording equipment.
David walked up to the dude and whispered something in his ear.
"Sorry, man! Don't get cocky." The dude held up his hands. "Remember, you guys look alike."
The dude wore a white t shirt, a black beanie, jeans, and tennis shoes. He got up and shook my hand.
"You must be Zabrina! David couldn't stop talking about you when we were making the song." He boasted.
"That's enough, Shane." Laughed David.
"What? Can't I boast about you?" He caressed my face. "You have cool eyes, a crazy name, and crazy hair. No wonder why David likes you." He leaned in closer. "He likes crazy people. That's why he likes me!"
"No wonder." I took a step back.
"SHANE!" Yelled David.
"What?" Asked Shane, holding up his hands. "I'm making her feel comfortable."
"Ummmmm..... Not working." I half smiled.
"Whatever." He sat back down and smiled. "Why don't we work on the song."
David pulled the only chair open closer to Shane and sat. I sat on the couch.
"No. No. No!" Said Shane. "David, what's wrong with this picture?"
"Nothing." He looked around. "Nothing's wrong."
"You can't see it, but I can." Shane got up and walked to me. He took my hands and pulled me up. "Zabrina don't know when to come in on the song, so she should be sitting closer." He plopped down on David's lap. "There! The picture is right now." He sat back. "Zabrina, do you have the lyrics?"
I dug in my purse and he started playing the song. "Yep!" I pulled the sheet music out.
"Now, you come in here." He explained. "Then David is going to join you." He explained for a good 20 minutes when to come in and when to stop. "Now, let's try it!" Shane pulled me up and pushed me into the booth. "Wear these." He put headphones over my ears. "And make sure to come in on your parts." He walked out and sat back down. He turned on the headphones. "Testing!"
It burned my ears. I weakly gave a thumbs up and stood in front of the microphone. David held up his fingers. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. The music played. I counted the beats in my head then sang.
Take my hand, I'll teach you to dance.
I'll spin you around, won't let you fall down.
Would you let me lead, you can step on my feet.
