-the next day-

𝗿io's fuchsia eyes wandered around the deserted area known as suribachi city.

"the yokohama foreign settlement..." an older voice spoke, grabbing the young executive's attention. she looked next to her, watching a taller and older gentleman walk next to her. "there was once a giant explosion her. in the resulting crater, people began building what would eventually become known as suribachi city." he stated. the peach haired girl hummed out of interest as she walked with the older man down the steps.

"mr. hirotsu, right?" she asked, earning a nod from the older man. the older man glanced over at the female executive. rio eyes continued to roam around the vast settlement. "are their any people that might live here?" she asked. the man, hirotsu, blinked at her sudden question. "why do you ask?" he asked her curiously. the short girl shrugged her shoulders, shoving her hands into her pockets.

"no-"

"they drink metal plating to kill themselves overseas?" the brunette executive mused, interrupting rio. the girl's eyes wandered down to dazai, who stood at the bottom of the steps, reading his book.

"wait..." the boy paused, scanning the next sentence. "but it melts down their organs while they're still alive?" he questioned, a frown gracing his lips. "glad i never tried that..." he muttered quietly under his breath. the peach haired colored girl sighed and shook his head.

'he's such a good looking boy.' she thought, fuchsia eyes glancing up at the blue sky above them. 'why is he so persistent on dying young?' she wondered. she sighed again, running a hand through her pale pink locks.

patter patter, patter patter!

the young executive froze, eyes immediately darting in the direction. 'i didn't like that.' she thought, scowling. 'not one bit.'

"looks like he's come back." dazai's voice said, causing the female executive to snap her head in his direction. "straight from the pits of hell." he added, a menacing smile creeping onto his face. "i'll give you a proper report when i get ba-"

crash!

before the brunette could even finish his sentence, he was push into a building by an unknown force.

"what was that?!" hirotsu shouted. rio scowled as she ran down the remaining steps. she landed on the ground below her, fuchsia eyes trying their best to look through the smoke that had invaded their vision.

"dazai, are you al-" the girl paused as laughter filled her ears. the heavy smoke around them began to lift, revealing a red haired teen that looked about their age.

the boy that loomed over dazai was short in stature in comparison to him, sporting a short black peacoat over top a light gray hoodie and black pants. his hair was short and red, stopping only at the nape of his neck. his eyes were blue and full of fire.
