𝗿io still hadn't come to terms with sada's abrupt death.

her fuchsia eyes was currently focused on the vast white ceiling above her. it was almost 12:30 and around this time, her guardian would stroll into her office to have their daily work conversation.

and the peach haired teen is still waiting for the woman to stroll in at any minute.

she faced her head to her door, hoping for sada to walk in. her small hand slowly formed into a fist under her desk in frustration. "c'mon please..." she muttered softly. "please let whatever happened last week be a sick nightmare..." she whispered, eyes still focused on the door.

knock knock!

her fuchsia eyes widened at the sequence of knocks on her door. with swiftness, the peach haired executive stood up from her desk and paced to the door. she grabbed the door and swung it with haste.

"sa-"

she froze as a pair of blue eyes locked on to her fuchsia ones.

the shorter executive took a step back, taking a better glimpse at the redhead that stood in front of her. chuuya frowned at her outburst. "never mind, i'll come back later." he muttered lowly as he turned around a strolled off. the peach haired teen only stood quietly in front of her opened door with tears stinging the corners of her eyes.

"...you're not sada.." she whispered, eyes wandering down to the floor below her. in one swing, the girl slammed her door shut and locking it in the process. "sada..." she muttered as tears threatened to stream down her face. "i need you..." she sobbed as she sunk down to the floor with her hands covering her teary face.

-time skip-

the dark skinned girl opened her eyes slowly, squinting immediately at the sight of the setting sun beaming in them. "sunset?" she questioned, glancing at the windows behind her desk. "did i fall asleep?" she wondered, realizing that she was sitting on the floor. she them remembered the events that happened hours ago.

"i shouldn't had came into work today.." she murmured as she stood up slowly. with a loud sigh, the young executive walked over to her desk to grab her bag. she paused, looking out the window once more. "things won't ever be the same without you, my dear friend..." she muttered before turning around and walking towards her door. she reached over and grabbed the doorknob, twisting it slightly to open it. she took a small step out her office and quickly turned around to close her door.

she turned once more and began to walk down the hallway silently. "it's so quiet..." she whispered, fuchsia eyes bouncing from wall to wall. "i'm usually never here this late..." she murmured. rio let out a low hum as she turned the corner, glancing over at the doors that displayed on her left. her eyes glanced at each nameplate that adorned each one, until one of them caught her attention.

𝙨𝙖𝙙𝙖 𝙖.

she froze in place and stared at the door. the young executive took a step forward to the former doctor's door, pressing her small hand against it. she restrained herself from opening the woman's door.

since she wouldn't be in there anyway.

the dark skinned teen sighed as she stepped back and slowly walked to the stairwell. since sada's death, she began living at headquarters. her room was located two floors down from the the port mafia's base of operations.

her fuchsia eyes glanced down the dimly lit stairwell then bounced back up the stairs, which had let to the roof. she raised her wrist to eye level, analyzing the watch on her wrist.

𝟲:𝟱𝟭

rio dropped her arm to her side as she glanced up the stairs. without any hesitation, she strolled up those stairs without a word. at the top of those stairs was the the door that had led to the vast roof space. taking a deep breath, she open the door. the girl was welcomed with a cool breeze as she stepped forward. her eyes admiring the afterglow of the setting sun before her. her feet moved towards the wired fence that adorned the roof. a breeze came through once more, swaying her long black jacket and her peach colored locks.

"beautiful, isn't it?" a familiar voice asked, startling the female executive. rio quickly turned around, only to see her bandaged colleague leaning against the wall. she watched as the brunette strolled over to the fence, taking his place next to her. his sight never leaving from the view in front of them.

"well?" he asked, waiting the short girl's response. the older teen's face began to heat up before looking forward. "y-yeah..." she mumbled, fuchsia eyes wandering around the vast scenery of yokohama. both of the executives stood in blissful silence as they gazed up yokohama.

"hey rio." the tall boy asked, grabbing the girl's attention. the peach haired girl hummed at him lowly, eyes wandering over to him. "how are you holding up?" dazai asked. "with the situation." he clarified. the older teen sighed at his question. she turned around and pressed her back against the wired fence, closing her eyes.

"i'm..." she paused as she opened her eyes, looking down. "i'm alright." she lied, earning a chuckled from the brunette next to her. "i'd wish you'd stop thinking i don't know you, rio." he said, looking down at her. "how are you holding up, rio?" he reiterated. the older executive sighed again, leaning her head back against the fence.

"i'm fine dazai." she stated, looking over at the bandaged teen. "really, i am."

"rio, you're not okay." the brunette sighed, shaking his head. "during the day, you shut yourself in your office until six." he stated. "and after that, you go to your room and shut yourself in again." he said. "you're not okay." he finished. the peach haired girl sighed once more.

"goodnight dazai." she murmured before walking off. the brunette boy turned around swiftly, his brown eye looking at the girl's small frame.

"rio." he said, watching the his partner stop.

"you're like the port mafia's sun." he said. "there's only so little time before your brightness fades away." he added. the little executive ignored him as she opened the door and strolled down the stairs.
