HONKAI IMPACT 13TH

Chapter 7

During a meeting with Otto in his office, Dr. Mei confronted him seriously. 

"...so Dr. Mei you wish to take him out of this base? It's that right?"

"Yes, tomorrow there will be a festival in the city, I want to take him with Kevin so he can see the town. He has been living there for a long time. I wish to let him know more people and environment."

"It's okay then, as long as you brought him back to this base. So what about the other things that you wanted to discuss?" asked Otto.

"The Project Control has already failed so I am working on a different project to replace it." Dr. Mei took out her documents and show them to Otto. Otto took it and looked at the document name called Soldier Project.  A project that improves human strength by fusing the human body with the DNA of Houkai beasts. It will give them superhuman power and innate honkai resistance that can make them survive longer.

"It's interesting, but have you found a test subject to try?" Otto questions her.

"...No, there is no one who signs for this project to try yet."

"Then, It can't start yet until the test subject appears and test whether it is dangerous or safe, after all, if the project fails they might turn into a monster, that would make them hate it so It's important to make them feel at ease to act as test subjects. Have you ask the child about the cure?"

"I already asked him. He even asked me what is the cure. I explain about it and but I am already convinced that he does not know how to cure honkai infections."

"...are you sure?"

"Yes, I explain everything about honkai and what we are." Dr. Mei wanted to know why Otto cares about this.

"So he has not awakened yet," muttered Otto.

"What are you talking about, Mr. President?" 

"It's nothing concern to you. So you want to go outside with the child tomorrow. I will let the agents follow with you to guard him."

"Mr. President, I believe we don't need agents to guard the child. Kevin will follow with us, and with his strength, no agents can protect us better than him."

"It's for the child's safety. If we are careless, the other organizations may take him away to acquire his secret. These groups also know about the cure that we hoped to learn from the child. Should I send my bodyguard to protect him?"

"No, Kevin is enough. Thank you for the warning. If there is nothing I will leave now." Dr. Mei stood up from her chair. 

"Besides, Dr. Mei, your project has the potential to save many lives. As soon as we discover the cure we will start the project you have in mind." Otto praised her.

"Thank you." Dr. Mei looked at him for a moment and left.

Dr. Mei saw Kevin outside the office waiting for her. 

"So did he give you the permission to let him out?"

"Yes, I get it but he even wanted to send agents for the child."

"Did he not trust me?" Kevin feels that he was looked down on by Otto.

"He said, this is for Ryuu's safety, He even wanted to sent his bodyguard for him."

"I guess he did care about him."

"Maybe or maybe not, I don't know what he's thinking anymore. He was once a great professor,  teaching me who doesn't know about honkai when I arrived here, but he started to change when he became the MOTH President a year ago."

Kevin thought about what Mei said, his face seems likes he knows about Otto's changes. Kevin discard his thought and asked.

"Now, let's go to him. That kid will be excited when he knows he can go outside with us."

"...Kevin, you should be started to call his name now. He already had a name."

"Ryuu right. It sounds like a pet name. I don't know why he liked this lame name."

"...Sorry for giving him a lame name!" shouted Dr. Mei.

"What! no. wait! I was kidding. He had a cool name that I'm so jealous of. Kevin's name is so lame that... wait Mei! I'm sorry, please don't leave me!" following Mei behind Kevin apologized to her nonstop.

In the city of Nagazora, a Russian airplane has arrived and many passengers come out from the plane. There was a man with a tired face and a young girl with a smile went to passport control. As a staff member looked at those two, he thought they seemed strange, but he smiled and took the passport from the man whose hand is shaking. 

"Are you okay, Sir? You looked tired?"

"I'm fine." the man said.

"Okay. What purpose do you have for visiting, Sir?"

"...business."

A staff member examined the girl's passport and his passport. 

"I'm glad that you have a cute daughter with you to travel."

"Thanks, Uncle." said the girl.

"Okay, all finish. Welcome to Nagazora city. Enjoy your stay with your daughter."

The man takes the passport and left with the girl. A staff member looked at those two leaves and suddenly remember. 

"I haven't seen their bags, did they take it away?"

They arrived at the hotel through a taxi and went directly to their rooms.

When the girl closes the door, her face forms a smile that looks different from before.

"...the acting is over, so where is he?"

"I've told you everything! Please let me go! I can't stand it!"

The girl grabs the man's face and hits the floor. 

"We are the ones who are asking. Now we ask you again where is Otto!"

"I'm telling the truth, I only know that he is in Nagazora. Please, don't kill me."

The girl who grabs the man's head was a mercenary who raids the orphanage. He recalls that they killed all the children, even the girl who's holding his head is no exception. When he went to the bar to drink a bottle of expensive wine, the girl appears and kills everyone except him. He tries to shoot her several times but black smoke appears from her body and the bullet disappears before it hits her. The girl inquires about Otto's whereabouts. The man lies by claiming that others know his whereabouts. She smiles at him, throwing dog tags of mercenaries that she killed in front of him "You're the only one left; we can take our time slowly to talk." and his nightmare begins. 

"If you take too long to tell where he is, we will remove your eyes one by one, since you still have a mouth and ears to tell us." 

"I, Ahhh!" Before he tries to speak, his eyes have turned white and there's a pain that he can't describe reaching his brain. 

"Aha sorry. we accidentally destroyed your small brain, but you need not worry. When we think about it carefully as long as we destroy this city, we'll have a rat come out from his hideout so we don't need you anymore." 

Having his brain attacked, the man couldn't say anything. The girl didn't care about it and said.

 "You can go to hell peacefully and say hello to your friends for us." a black smoke appears from her hand and went to the man. His body begins to crumble slowly and turns to ash.

"...Now we are in Nagazora, where should we start?" She looked at the flyer that she got from the airport.

The flyer says the festival will begin in XXX locations tomorrow, and many people will attend it. This is the best place to start her hunting, and her face has a sadist smile.

"Let's take our revenge there, human will knows how stupid it is to invite us, right Seela?"
