The scene Alice had predicted happened. I woke up and it was snowing. Today was the day everyone had been anxiously waiting for. The final battle. We'd meet with all the Volturi. No one was calm.

It was early morning. The vampires started gathering. All witches appeared at the same time in front of my house. When I saw them I went to where they were.

"Thank you so much for coming." I said.

I hugged Helen, who was responsible for conducting the rest of the girls.

"We'll always help each other, Vi. That's why we're here for." Helen spoke.

"Did Sarah stay at home alone?" I asked.

Obviously Sarah would stay home and wouldn't join us in the battle. I've just never thought who she would be with.

"No. Janet, Thomas, and Ryan are with her." Grace spoke.

"The Volturi think they exterminated the Children of the Moon, Violet. So we didn't want to risk taking them with us." Sapphira said.

"Good thinking." I said.

Now all werewolves, witches, and vampires were waiting for Bella and Nessie in the clearing, who soon joined us.

Nessie got on Bella's back, so Bella would have her hand's free. The front line was composed of Carlisle, Edward, Emmett, Rose, Tanya, Kate, and Eleazar. Bella and Nessie were in the middle of the witches. Carlisle and Edward thought it was better if the witches surrounded them than being on the front line or on the back.

Most witneses stayed in the back. Some were between the witches. I was beside Esme, who was also there to protect Bella and Nessie. The wolves were the last ones. They were behind our bottom line composed of vampires.

The huge russet Alpha wolf came forward to stand beside Bella. It was Jake. Now we were all immobile, waiting for the Volturi.

They came in a rigid, formal formation. They moved together in perfect sync. They were all hooded. As soon as I saw them leaving the forest to come to us, I took Esme's hand.

"The redcoats are coming, the redcoats are coming," Garrett muttered.

"They did come," Vladimir told Stefan.

I could hear everything people murmured, of course. The witches, like in the other battle, had prepared before. We all took a few potions to give us more resistance, hearing, vision, speed, and agility.

"The wives," Stefan hissed. "The entire guard. All of them together. It's well we didn't try Volterra."

There were thousands of them. And few of us. It would be hard.

"Alistair was right," Edward murmured to Carlisle.

"Alistair was right?" Tanya whispered.

"They—Caius and Aro—come to destroy and acquire," Edward breathed. "They have many layers of strategy already in place. If Irina's accusation had somehow proven to be false, they were committed to find another reason to take offense. But they can see Renesmee now, so they are perfectly sanguine about their course. We could still attempt to defend against their other contrived charges, but first they have to stop, to hear the truth about Renesmee. Which they have no intention of doing."

Then, suddenly, all vampires who were coming towards us stopped. The wolves positioned themselves on either side of our line. I could notice there were more wolves than before. More of them must have turned.

I started looking for two faces between the Volturi. Jane and Alec. They were both beside Marcus. They were both wearing darker cloaks.

"Edward?" Carlisle asked anxiously.
