Family apart

The rest of the way was silent. Rose and I arrived home. Bella and Edward were coming back tonight, the whole family was going to pick them up at the airport. What I found very strange when I entered the house was to see Esme and Carlisle arguing, and this was extremely rare, in fact, I don't think I have ever seen them arguing before, the two most peaceful people in the family. I went up to my room without making much noise, I didn't want to disturb them, it seemed serious. I threw my backpack on the bed, picked up a book and lay there reading. I haven't left the room since.

A few hours later, around 7:00 pm, I was still in my room when I noticed that the whole family was gathered in the living room, probably Carlisle was telling the others what had happened and that Bella and Edward were coming home. After a few minutes of talking, someone knocked on my door, "Come in." I told them.

Esme walked in.

"Let's go, Darling. We'll go to the airport to pick up Edward and Bella."

"I know. Mom, are you okay? When I arrived you and dad were arguing about something."

"I am, Honey. Your father and I don't agree on how to deal with this situation. Him, Edward, Alice and Jasper think Bella should abort the baby. Rose, Emmett and I disagree.

I put the book aside, grabbed my cell phone and went over to Esme to give her a hug, she hates fighting with anyone in the family. We went in two cars, apparently it wasn't only Esme who fought with Carlisle, Rose and Emmett too. In one car, waiting for me to get in were Carlisle, Alice and Jasper, and in the other car, also waiting for me to get in, were Rose, Emmett and Esme. I stopped in front of the two cars, with everyone already inside, and it looked like my family was trying to get me to choose a side.

"Violet, who are you going with?" Alice spoke.

By reflex, as Alice had called me, I was about to get in the car with her, Jasper and Carlisle, but, my instincts made me change sides, I went towards Rose's car. I got in the back, next to Esme. I noticed the smile Rose gave when she saw that I was beside her.

Nobody said anything on the way to the airport, and I was thankful for that, the situation was completely unusual and strange for all of us, for the first time the Cullen family was divided. We arrived at the airport, went to the terminal where Edward and Bella would arrive and waited. Soon afterwards they both came to us.

Bella, surprisingly, seeing my family waiting for them, went straight to Rose. Of course, Rose was on her side, so Bella trusted her.

Noticing how the situation was making everyone behave differently, my will was to spend some time away, with my girl friends, or with Jake or Seth, was just growing.

On the way back home was even more odd, Edward, who wanted Bella to have an abortion, went with Carlisle, Alice and Jasper. Bella, who didn't want to abort, went with us.

When we got home, Carlisle knew about Bella's decision, no matter how much he didn't agree with her, he went straight to his medical room to arrange everything for Bella. Carlisle asked the others to do some research about immortal children and that kind of things. I went back to my room and isolated myself from everyone.
