Laying on the hard bed, I stared at the ceiling.
"What the fuck am I doing?" I groaned, running my hand down my face. I can't believe I got myself into this shit. I wasn't in control of myself. The realization of that hit me hard.

He led me here. I was never in control.

Anger began to blossom in my chest. I'm disappointed in myself. John would be disappointed.

Oh, John...

I felt the sting of tears behind my eyes as I rolled onto my side. My eyes glazed over as I replayed finding my only brother dead over and over again in my head. I felt my pain radiated into the room around me. The books on the table next to me began to shake and the lights flickered. I felt the pain build up in my chest so much that I felt like screaming. I began to hyperventilate. Trying to control my breathing was no use. I was too far gone. I could feel the ache in my throat. The need to scream continued to build. I rolled off of the bed and gripped my hair in my hands.

Just let go. Something whispered to me from deep within. Scream.

Tilting my head back, I released the sound. The bulbs in the lights shattered as the contents of the room exploded away from me. The walls shook and debris fell from the brick walls surrounding me. The sound continued to echo around me, even after the scream was completely released from my throat.

I hunched over as I tried to regain my breath. I heard the sound of the door burst open but I didn't look up to see who it was. The cell door creaked open and two furry paws came into view in front of me.

"Cerb?" I whispered.

The paws shifted into bare feet as two arms wrapped around me, lifting me from the ground. He repositioned to hold me bridal style and I let my head fall to his shoulder. I felt weak. I hated being weak.

I heard loud footsteps running down the stairs. Cerberus stopped for a minute, waiting for the person to rush in.

I glanced up as Lucifer's giant body filled the doorway.

"What happened?" He said, eyes bloodshot.

"Like you care," Cerberus bit out.

"I don't. But it feels she popped every blood vessel in my head with that scream."

"Cerb, give me a second."

He looked down at me and set me on my feet. I gave him a reassuring smile and he started to walk out of the cell.

If you hurt her, I will rip you limb from limb with my teeth. He warned, stepping around Lucifer and stepping through the door. I watched as he stopped and leaned against the wall, right outside the cell we were in. I turned my attention back to Lucifer.

"I am leaving," I began, looking at Lucifer. "And you are not going to stop me. I never wanted to be here in the first place. You were doing something to my head, making my decisions for me. You don't have to worry about me coming back and trying to kill you. I don't ever want to step foot back in this place again. I don't care about the prophecy, I don't care about the Solstice, I don't care about you. You have your answers on what I am and that's all you'll ever have. I am not yours. I don't care if I'm supposed to be fated as your soulmate for eternity. I'm leaving."

I looked in his eyes and I swear I saw something resembling regret but I didn't stay long enough to find out.

I stepped around him to walk to Cerberus. "Grab whatever you need, you're coming with me."

"I've got everything I need right here," he whispered, looking down at me.

As we turned to walk out, Lucifer appeared in the doorway again.

"Get out of our way," Cerberus growled.

Lucifer's eyes narrowed on him. "You serve me, not her. Or did you forget that, dog?"

Cerberus burst into his hell hound form. I USED to serve you. She is my master now. You can either deal with it, or come show me just how much of a demon you really are, Lucifer.

The sound of Cerberus spitting out Lucifer's name like that, challenging him, made me nervous. This time is different than when Lucifer hit me. His anger was directed at me alone then, now it's solely on Cerberus.

Lucifer's wings burst from his back and drug behind him as he stalked toward Cerberus. Lucifer may be the Devil but Cerb stood taller than him. Snarling at his master as he growled.

I stepped between them, feeling my power begin to build up again. Odd that I can only get my powers to work when I feel the need to protect Cerb. "I said that we're leaving, Lucifer."

"He's staying here," he replied, his voice dangerously low.

"No, he's not. Now unless you want me to fulfill that prophecy of killing you, I suggest you get the hell out of our way."

"You couldn't kill me even if you tried, love. You have no idea what I'm capable of."

"I do." Cerberus stepped up next to me then. Lucifer looked between the two of us and I could see in his eyes when he decided not to test his luck against the both of us.

Feeling a sense of calm then, I stepped around him and Cerberus and I ascended the stairs. Once we made it to the main floor, I felt the ground shake as Cerberus transported us back to Earth.

"Dramatic," I laughed lightly.
