Priya heads back into their room, slamming the door behind her. She only gets to the washroom before the tears start falling. Sinking to the floor, she tries to forget about the past. Tries to forget how she left her kids when they needed her the most. Try as she might, Arjun's words struck a chord in her heart; it only strengthened the words he spoke to her on that fateful night... "I don't deserve to have kids..." She whispers, slamming her head against the door.
Back at the restaurant, Arjun orders a drink to calm his mind. "Why did I say those things?" He murmurs, remembering the pain and anger he saw in her eyes. "I came here to bring her back home, not to push her further away." As he downs another shot, he tries to change his sorrow into anger. Try as he might, he couldn't. Priya's words struck a chord. He failed as a father to Adi and Pooja, and bringing back their Priyamma was the only way to fix it. Arjun tried to convince himself that that was the only reason why he was here- for his two older kids. He knew the truth was that he wanted Priya back as much as them, but he couldn't accept it yet. After ordering room service to bring more alcohol, he drags himself back to their room.
She hears the door open and quickly wipes away her tears. "Priya?" He calls out. "I'm here." She responds. After splashing her face with water, she steps out and instantly smells the alcohol. "Arjun-" She starts before stopping herself. Why should she care whether he drank or not? "Are you going to say anything?" Arjun says, sitting at the table. "Yell, complain, give your lengthy lectures miss doctor?" "Why should I? You're old enough to take care of yourself." A knock on the door interrupts them. It was the room service boy with more alcohol. Priya wrinkles her nose, unable to tolerate the smell. "Well, what about the smell? Oh right, you're such an innocent child, can't even smell alcohol without throwing up." Arjun teases. "Don't take the bait Priya." She whispers to herself. "Oi Malayalam mangamma!" The nickname sends a shiver through Priya's spine. No matter how many years passed, that nickname will always be special. "Oi, did you hear me?" Arjun says, beckoning her towards him. "Maybe Dr. Priya needs a couple of shots to loosen up, hm? Instead of being so rude and uptight." Priya ignores him, and walks towards the bed. "Oh right, you're so old now right? Wearing car covers as clothes and staying away from anything fun. The complete opposite of Vandhana," Arjun slurs. He smirks, seeing her glare, knowing that he successfully triggered her. "Oh so you mean you like women who drink themselves silly and falls on the street?" She rolls her eyes. Arjun shrugs. "Can you hold down your alcohol any better? We both know you can't." "Watch me." Priya sits down and grabs the glass from Arjun's hand, emptying the contents into her throat in one gulp. It burns, and she involuntarily shivers. "One sip and you're already shaking?" Arjun laughs. Priya glares at him, pouring another glass full. Without breaking eye contact, she downs glass after glass, until they are both completely drunk and the bottle is empty.
