Yeonjun and Soobin were just the happiest when they were home. Every day when Soobin finished his work, Yeonjun would wait for him to fresh up, and then they would prepare dinner as they talk about their day, eat together, then watch a show or movie sitting on the couch until its night.

Somewhere amidst watching the movie and falling asleep, Yeonjun would end up straddling Soobin and they would wake up messy.

That was just the most times. Somedays when they go out on dates or have trips on the weekend this would change, but nevertheless, when they are together they are the happiest and that is what matters.

Exactly why Yeonjun couldn't help but feel weird when Soobin had got a little distant from him, and for the first time in two years Soobin had texted him to meet at the same cafe they met the very first time when Yeonjun moved out from his ex-boyfriend's apartment and Soobin was looking for a housemate. He knew their love life has been just perfect, but remembered how Soobin was talking about having to work in a different country now.

Usually, for every date Yeonjun would get ready and wait, Soobin would pick him up, and then they would go together to the place, but today was different. Was he going to tell them they have to maintain their distance when he goes to another country? Yeonjun knows he cannot go right now, he needs time to tie some ends in Canada. Long-distance relationships are scary. Yeonjun didn't want it to happen.

Yeonjun was ready and reached the cafe 15 mins early. He sat at the same table they had met. Since everything started here, was it supposed to end here? No, it can't.

His knees keep shaking, nervousness taking a toll on him. And then he spots his boyfriend walk towards the table, as usual with a huge smile that always makes his heart skip a beat. Soobin was usually calm but what made him this happy?

"Hey baby, sorry I'm late," Soobin says as he takes his seat opposite Yeonjun. He doesn't really notice how nervous his boyfriend is.

"Just 5 mins it's okay," Yeonjun says a bit raspy as his throat feels dried suddenly.

"How was your day?" Soobin is trying to make a normal conversation, but yet something felt off.

"Nothing much happened, since you texted I just got ready and came here, since I actually missed you," Yeonjun told him that. He has missed his boyfriend for so long now.

Soobin felt a bit guilty, but this was gonna pay off. He tried constructing a good sentence, but he just couldn't. He was never the one to talk fancy words or poetic phrases. Wasn't he the one who directly asked him if Yeonjun could be his fake boyfriend?

"Fuck this, I tried so hard coming up with poetic phrases, but even google didn't help me, so.." Soobin took out a plain white, silky, small box and opened it on the table.

".. it is still soon, so I am not going to propose, but I wanted to do this for so long," he continues.

"Remember the last time we went to a mall when we bought our matching bracelets, you were looking at the rings? I just thought why we don't get matching rings too. But then I want it to be special."

"This is a promise ring Junnie. I know I came into your life in the weirdest way possible, but that's how we are right? This place started it all, and I have been the happiest ever since. The same way, in the same place, I want to promise you this."

"I have never been with a boy before and you knew that too. As much as it scared me since it is you, I love the idea of being in love. Being with you forever sounds as much more enchanting than that. So, I promise that for as long as I breathe you will be the only person I love, and I am never leaving a place without you. I am staying with you, I am living with you always in the same house, and whatever we do, we do it together. This is my promise to you, to remind you that you are stuck with me forever, and it's already late that you can't choose something else, and I will make sure to get down on my knees to ask you to be my forever officially when it's time," he completed as he kept the box open which displayed two rings, one complementing the other.

"I wouldn't like it any other way too," Yeonjun's eyes were glossy from the confession and he knew for sure that Soobin was the best ever thing that happened to him.

Soobin slid over the ring gently onto Yeonjun's ring finger, while Yeonjun did the same to Soobin. And then Soobin took his hand to kiss him, right where the ring was there.

That endearing smile Yeonjun has was back again.

"I love you," Yeonjun whispered. The tear that stayed in for so long just dropped out of Soobin's eyes. "I love you more," he whispered back.

Now they held a promise, and they both knew that was the meaningful promise ever, and they would do anything to make sure the promise would never break; they were just so much in love with each other.
