It was my bestfriend's birthday that's why, I decided to surprise her.

As I entered the gate of our school, I saw Kate, my bestfriend, happily walking towards me. I ignored her and continued walking because that was a part of my plan.

Kagabi ko pa iniisip kung anong magandang sorpresa sa kaniya. Naisip ko na cake na lang 'yong gift ko sa kaniya since buong buhay niya, hindi siya nagkaroon ng cake sa birthday niya. Mamayang lunch ko na lang ibibigay ang cake sa kaniya.

Habang nag di-discuss ang teacher sa harapan, I didn't see Kate entered in our classroom. She was also marked as absent by our teacher. Nag-alala tuloy ako kung ano na ang nangyari sa kaniya.

It's our lunch time kaya naman lumabas muna ako sa paaralan namin at bumili ng cake. After I bought, I quickly searched for her.

Nasa kalagitnaan ako ng paghahanap sa kaniya nang maagaw ng atensyon ko ang mga estudyanteng nagkukumpulan malapit sa building ng senior high.

"Oh my God! Si Kate ba 'yan?"

"Why did she jump off the building?"

Rinig kong sigaw ng mga estudyante. Dali-dali akong pumunta roon at isiniksik ang sarili ko hanggang sa makapunta ako sa gitna.

Nang makasiksik na, pakiramdam ko ay tumigil ang mundo ko sa mga oras na ito.

I saw my bestfriend bathing on her own blood. My tears immediately fell down from my eyes.

I saw a paper on her right hand and I quickly read it.

"Today is my birthday, but everyone forget about it. Even my family and my closest friend did. It was supposed to be a happy birthday to me, but it's more like a sad birthday."

She thought I forgot about her birthday but the truth is, I just want to surprise her.
