Coyedian brought Valeria further away from the central town and closer to a forest not far away from the town.
She furrowed her brows together, "Where are we going?"
"To play!"
"Play? In the forest?"
"No there's a lake near the forest."
"...Why are we going there?"
"To fish!"
Valeria couldn't understand what he wanted, "Fish? We're fishing by the lake?"
Coyedian halted and turned to her, "You never really went out right? So you should use this time to try out new things like fishing."
Valeria kept silent, getting lost in her thoughts. What Coyedian said was true. She should try out new things and experience all sort of stuff in this life. Coming to a simple conclusion, she nodded and showed a brief smile.
"Alright, let's try fishing."
Coyedian had a grin on his face, happy that he was able to persuade her. He brought her over to a lake not too deep into the forest and magically brought out two fishing rods, handing her one.
"Are you scared of worms?"
Valeria shook her head, "Don't really care."
"Brave aren't we?" he lightly teased before picking up a worm and putting it on the hook at the end of the fishing line.
Valeria copied him though it was hard for her to get the worm to be hooked on as it kept wiggling. After a long time, she succeeded and turned to Coyedian who waited for her.
"Next we just throw the line into the water and say "fishies come here!". When you say those words, you will catch a fish." Coyedian spoke in a serious manner.
Valeria, who knew absolutely nothing about fishing, innocently nodded. She threw the line into the water and calmly without batting an eyelash said,
"Fishies come here!"
Unlike what Coyedian had said, it was silent for the next five minutes before Valeria tilted her head in confusion, turning to her side where he was sitting.
"Where are the fishes?" she questioned.
Coyedian who was holding in his laughter, quietly answered, "We have to wait but they will definitely come."
Valeria believed his words and brought her focus back to the fishing line, patiently waiting until her line suddenly tugged. Surprised, her eyes grew wide before turning to Coyedian who was also surprised.
He hurriedly left his fishing rod which he had placed upright on the soil and ran to Valeria's side, helping her pull the line. After a bit of tug of war with the rod, a fish erupted out from the water, furiously swinging left and right.
"You caught one!" he said with shock.
Valeria stared at the fish, not expecting that she would actually be able to catch one. Coyedian summoned a bucket with water and placed the fish inside. She kept looking at the fish swimming around the bucket, her expression still laced with surprise.
"Coyedian," she called out to him, "This is fun..."
He blinked at her before laughing, "We can do this the whole day then."
She nodded and placed another bait on the fishing line.
"Fishies come here!" she softly muttered, casting the line into the lake.
He burst into laughter after hearing her say that line the second time but Valeria didn't pay attention to him and only the fishing line.
After he calmed down from his laughter, he casted a glance over at her. She was extremely focused on the fishing line, ignoring her surroundings. He chuckled, shaking his head.
