Chapter 3: A Magical Beast and A Contract

Valeria was now standing in the middle of a vast white room. No matter how much she looked, there seemed to be no end to it. She glanced around confused.

"Where am I?" she whispered to herself.

"In your head of course!" a giddy voice spoke to her.

She blinked before shrugging. "I must be hearing things."

"You aren't! That's rude ya know!?" the voice spoke again.

Then a black smoke emerged right in front of her eyes before a black cat came into view. Valeria stared at the cat before rubbing her eyes.

"Am I going insane? This cat can talk? I must be going insane, there's no way a cat can talk." Valeria rambled off on her own.

"Of course a cat can't talk. I'm not an ordinary cat." the black cat spoke.

Its voice was deep yet smooth. Valeria looked at it suspiciously.

"I am the legendary magical beast, Coyedian!" the cat smugly said.

Valeria could see the smug smile on its face.

"Magical beast?" Valeria raised an eyebrow.

In the game, there was no mention of a magical beast and now suddenly there is one in front of her? She wasn't going to believe it without any proof.

"Yes, I am a magical beast and I know you are not the original owner of this body." the cat said, startlingly her surprised.

"How did you.."

The black cat smirked, the smugness returning back onto its face. "Because I was the one who summoned you into this body."

"..What?"

"That's right, I, the great Coyedian summoned you here with my amazing powers!"

Valeria's left eye twitched. "Why?"

The black cat, Coyedian hit his right paw onto his other. "Because I made a deal- a contract with the previous owner of this body, Valeria Rubis."

"How..? This definitely never happened in the game though.."

"I don't know either! I was sleeping peacefully before I heard her voice calling out to me and then I was suddenly in front of her. Then she proposed a contract with me."

Coyedian, walked around Valeria's legs before continuing where he left off, "If I did what she asked for, I will be granted a luxurious life! And she was so cool when she talked about it!"

Valeria sighed and shook her head, "So you agreed with this because of a luxurious life? Aren't you the legendary magical beast?"

Coyedian hissed at her, "Hey! Just because I am The Great Coyedian doesn't mean I'm able to live a luxurious relaxed life!!"

"I have been in a deep slumber inside a dirty disgusting cave! You know how many disgusting bugs crawl around there!?"

"I see?"

'You're a magical beast aren't you? You could just easily clean the cave with a snap..'

"So because of the contract I had to find a soul that was compatible enough to be in this body since it is actually dying." Coyedian explained, pointing his paw at her.

"Then I found your soul which was extremely compatible as if you are the owner of it. You have the same name as her as well." he added on.

Valeria nodded, listening to his explanation. "So you can get me out of this body right?"

Coyedian paused and blinked a couple of times. "What?"

"Since you can put my soul into this body, you can take it out right?"

"Um that's-"

"You know, you did something really troublesome. I never asked to be reincarnated and especially in the same conditions I had when I was alive."

"You..you don't want to know what the contract is?"

Valeria shook her head at Coyedian, "No. So, can you take my soul out of this body and find another one?"

Coyedian was now having cold sweat, "I-I am unable to do that. I only have the power to put one soul into a body."

Valeria sighed and sat down on the floor. "Ah, well that's unfortunate. Guess I'll be stuck in this body then."

"Th..then you will help me complete this contract right-"

"Absolutely not." she cut Coyedian off.

"Huh?!"

"I didn't ask for this you know. Without my consent you have brought me into this body so of course I'm not helping you." she pointed at him accusingly.

"But you know that if you don't agree this body you are in will die in a year!"

"Yeah. So what?"

Coyedian wanted to cry, "What do you mean so what?"

"If I die, I die. No big deal."

"Don't you want to live?!"

"Mhm I will. For a year then I will happily allow death to take me away." Valeria showed him a thumbs up.

Coyedian used his paws, messing up his fur. "I don't understand you!!!"

Valeria shrugged, "Never asked you to."

She then stood up and dusted her clothes clean, "Well, if that's all. I would like to leave now."

Coyedian gritted his teeth before yelling, "I'm not giving up ya hear me!!"

Valeria yawned and gave him an okay sign, "Okay sure. Let me go now please."

Coyedian clicked his tongue before waving his paw up in the air.

Valeria felt her consciousness returning to her before she opened her eyes, finding herself back in the same room she woke up in yesterday.

"Your Grace, have you woke up?" Myra asked, knocking on the door.

"Yes. Come in Myra."

The day continued on as normal. All her meals were eaten together with Aelius before doing their own separate things.

Just like that, a week went by.
