Thalia's POV
Thalia looked at her phone to check the time.
23:47
Less than 15 minutes until a new year started, and Thalia could not wait.
There was a lot she wanted to leave behind, and a lot she wanted to keep.
She wanted to leave behind the pain of Luke's betrayal and the nightmares, both her's and Reyna's, though she couldn't really control those.
She wanted to keep her friendships, her relationship with Reyna, though, as soulmates, she wasn't too worried about losing Reyna forever.
Out of all of those things though, the most important by far -with the exception of keeping a stable relationship with Reyna- was to get rid of her and Reyna's nightmares.
That wasn't something that happened overnight, Thalia knew that, but she wished it did, not just for her, but for Reyna.
Every morning when she hadn't spent the night with Reyna, she'd wake up to a bunch of messages from Percy, telling her that Reyna had another nightmare but she was fine, and when she did spend the night -which was very often- she found that Reyna didn't have as many nightmares, but still quite a lot.
All Thalia wanted was for Reyna to be able to live and sleep peacefully, and though the nightmares were a good excuse to sleep with Reyna, Thalia didn't want or need one.
She thought about what the future might hold, perhaps their own house, though Reyna had mentioned that she and Percy might never be able to live in separate houses.
When Reyna had mentioned that, Thalia smiled, imagining a life in the distant future, growing old, while still living with Percy and Annabeth, and Reyna of course.
"Woah, where'd you go?" A wonderfully familiar voice asked from behind her, and she felt two strong arms wrap around her waist.
"Was thinking about the future." Thalia answered.
"Really? What did that entail?"
Thalia smiled, turning to face Reyna and leaned against the kitchen counter. "Us, Percy and Annabeth, in a mansion built by us, designed by Annabeth. Annie's an architect, Percy's a marine biologist, you're a cop, I'm living off of you three."
"Of course you're living off of us three." Reyna scoffed, but she was smiling as well.
"Yeah, well someone's gotta take care of the house, so why not let it be the person who has no idea what they want to do with their life?" Thalia shrugged.
"As long as you're by my side, I don't care what you're doing."
"Awww, that's so sweet." Thalia said. "Gimme a kiss."
Reyna rolled her eyes, but gave her a kiss anyways, which Thalia would've deepened if they weren't expected to be on the roof with the others within a few moments.
"I wonder what's gonna happen when we inevitably have to call the fire brigade because Leo's overdone the fireworks." Thalia said as they made their way back to the ladder onto the roof.
"I dunno, I think Paul will be embarrassed and Sally will either be really pissed or will be rolling on the floor with laughter, one of the two." Reyna replied with a chuckle.
"Any other guesses for what might happen tonight?"
"Well im kissing you at midnight, and everyone else will probably kiss their partners as well, because we're corny like that." Reyna answered as they took their seat on the roof.
