Will's POV

Will sighed as he walked towards the carpark at the end of his school day, pondering the past few weeks and months as the fresh snow crunched under his feet.

It had been a very odd start to the school year, but everything had slowly died down and his life had returned to normal.

Ever since Reyna had returned from the hospital, which was over a month ago, his group of friends had become even closer, though a lot had happened in that time.

Calypso and Leo's first date had gone about as well as expected: she was so annoyed she agreed to go on a second date, and a third, and then decided she'd officially let him be her boyfriend.

The real reason why Travis had been so down and stopped pranking Katie was still unknown, but since they'd started "secretly" going out, he'd officially stopped pranking her, at least in school.

Piper and Jason's relationship had seemingly just materialised out of thin air. They'd simply walked into school holding hands, earning wolf whistles from their friend group and a stern glare from Drew Tanaka, though no one cared about her.

The only couple that hadn't gotten together yet was Frank and Hazel, and with Charles and Silena coming to visit from their trip around the world for New Year's Eve, they'd all agreed that if the two weren't together by then, they'd have to speed things up and push them together, because the pining and crushing had gotten unbearable.

There was still ten days left until Christmas, but, being the responsible boyfriend he was, Will had already bought a present for Nico.

He'd bought it partially as a joke, but also because the necklace he'd bought represented the two of them perfectly.

It a simple silver chain with a magnetic clasp, and had a pendant that was split in half, one side being the sun and the other a skull.

As Will continued to ponder Nico's reaction to the present, he was hit in the side of the head by a snowball.

Will wheeled around to yell at the idiot who'd thrown the snowball at him, but then realised it was his idiot who'd thrown it.

He couldn't surprise his smile as Nico fell into the snow, laughing hysterically.

"Y-your face." Nico managed to say between fits of laughter. "You should've seen it! It was hilarious!"

"Is that Nico? Laughing?" Will heard Annabeth's voice behind him.

"I have never been more scared in my entire life." Will turned to see Percy speak.

"Yeah, well Neeks decided to throw a snowball at my face." Will muttered, causing Percy to laugh as well.

Suddenly, a snowball sailed through the air, past Percy, Annabeth and Will, and struck Nico right in the stomach.

"Gotcha bitch!" Reyna's voice called across the now nearly empty parking lot.

"Oh, you're on." Nice growled, quickly making another snowball and launching it in Reyna's direction.

"Well this is definitely escalating, so I'm going to do the unintelligent thing, and join in." Percy announced, grabbing some snow and hurling it towards Nico.

Unfortunately for Percy, he was in between Reyna and Nico, which meant he was hit in both sides of the face by snowballs.

Soon though, the three were standing in a triangle, still chucking snowballs at each other while Will had started talking to Annabeth.

"How long do we let this go on before we call the others for an ambush?" Annabeth asked.

"How about we just text them all right now and tell them to meet us here. It'll be us against the new kids." Will replied.
