connected and searching pt. 2

a/n: well the beginning of this chapter was definitely something new to write, and I was trying to describe it without being too detailed.
Also, yes, Sapnap is still in the kitchen! So i'm gonna add some things that the comments last chapter were talking about because I thought they were funny.

George pov

Those hands that reached out for years, the butterflies trying to escape the net, finally flourished and escaped as our lips connected to each others.

Our hands reached out and grasped each other's holding on as if the world could tear us apart.
The one thing i've wanted for years was right in front of me and i've finally found it, and it seems Clay has too.

I pull away, separating us for a few moments.
"You know...I honestly never thought I would be able to reach out to you. To actually have you forgive me and be in front of me again. I cant even express how happy I am right now."

"No, I get it. I thought we would never be able to get in touch again. I was desperate. And now it's as if all those years of feelings staying dormant have escaped.." He responds.

We stare down at each others connected hands for a few more moments before Clay brings me back in for another kiss.

"So I grabbed some pretzels and popcor-"
I hear the sound of a metal bowl falling and direct my attention towards it.

"oh my god,sapnap!" Clay says in a slight panic
"Okay, okay we can explain I swear! We-" I say

"No need to explain George..." Sapnap states
"What do you mean?" I ask
"I've been waiting for this goddamn moment forever."

what-

"Huh?!" Me and Clay say in unison.
"Well yeah! The way Clay has talked about you for years! I honestly thought you guys were already dating!"

"soooo you're not mad we were just...making out on the couch....?"
"I mean, it would have been nicer if it wasn't here but at least it's finally happened. I was getting sick of hearing how much Clay missed you damn."

The tense atmosphere faded and was replaced with small fits of laughter and reminiscing on the past, all with Clays arms wrapped around my shoulder.

When we got back to Clays apartment it didn't feel the same.
It wasn't uncomfortable, it wasn't even awkward, it just felt cozy.
The warm yellow light from the lamps contradicted the dark blue light coming from the window outside.
The ticking of the clock helped keep some noise in the vast silence or enjoying each other's company.

"I'm not even going to lie," I start "I think that was my first kiss..."
"You're kidding?!" Clay responds.
"I'm not. It was hard to kiss someone when you had feelings for someone who was miles and miles away from you..." I say

"Well...How about you?" I ask.
"Me?"
"Yeah, when was your first kiss?"

"Actually that would have been my first." He says.
"What do you mean would?"
"Remember the last new years before we broke off?" Clay questioned and I nodded in response.

"There was this stupid new years party I got dragged into and I just had to agree to play spin the bottle. Apparently there was a 1% chance it would land on me, and with some miracle it did. When I stood up and walked over to this girl I said hey can you just spin for someone else or something along those lines.."
"and..?" I ask
"She didn't. She just pulled me in and kissed me. That feeling afterwards was terrible...I felt sick to my stomach and just like that I had my first kiss.."

"oh my god...i'm so sorry.." I say.
"It's not that big of a deal don't worry about it."
"Not that big of a deal?? She literally just pulled you in and didn't even consider how you felt!" I say.
"Hey at least I can forget about it and replace that memory with what happened tonight."

"You don't regret that do you? kissing me?"
"God no..! Do you regret it?" He asks.
"Never."

Now i'm off to study for more finals!
