george pov
When I finally get out of whatever daze i'm in I can see a blurry figure a few inches away from my face.
"George??!!"
Shit my head hurts..what happened
My eyes finally focus and I see Clay
"Clay what happened??"
I bring my hand up to the part of my head that hurts
when I bring my hand down..
blood?..
"You fell from the tree you dumb-ass, then you got knocked out for a half and hour and I didn't know where you lived so I had to just wait for you to get up. I'm really sorry I didn't think you would fall I never should have made you climb it"
jesus he was worried
"Hey i'm fine let's just get out of here...let's go to my house i'm sure my mom was wondering where i've been.."
I try to get up, being a little light headed I had to have Clay help me walk.
"Again, i'm sorry..."
I look over at the boy, the breeze pushing his hair into his face
instinctively, I reach my hand over and brush it out of his eyes
"I said i'm alright"
He looks back over at me and nods, there's clearly still guilt in his eyes but not as much as before.
god that didn't go as planned
When we got to my house my mother was clearly shocked, whether it was over my head or the random boy bringing me home i'm not sure.
"God George what happened?!"
She ushers me into the living room
"And who are you..?"
I watch the interaction between them carefully giving Clay the don't say anything stupid type stare.
"Uh bellow i'm Clay, one of George's friends we met a few months ago.."
"Friend huh?" She looks over at him clearly questioning why I didn't tell her, and I would have said something if it wasn't for the pain in my head every time I tried to talk.
"well then...thanks for brining him home. You can stay for a while if you'd like"
"If you'll allow it of course I will"
—- later that evening-—
Me and Clay were laying on my bed a comfortable silence hung between us.
"Does your mother know where you are?" I ask
He looks over at me searching my face like the time he did in the treehouse when we first met
"My mother really doesn't like to stay updated on what I do, she's not very involved....ya know..?"
oh
"ah alright..."
please change the subject please change the subject-
"Hey you play guitar??" He looks over at my guitar case sitting in the corner of my room
"yeah kind of..i'm not really the best though"
Before I can finish my sentence he goes over and grabs it
"Play me something"
"uhh like i said..i'm not very good"
"oh shut up and play"
Reluctantly I grab the guitar and start messing around with it before I start playing the Intro to "soldier, poet, king".
He sits there in silence for a bit just listening but to my surprise he starts singing the lyrics to the song.
"you know this?"
"yeah I do.."
His voice wasn't harsh it was soft and carried the song nicely
He must have gotten caught up in singing because before we knew it he had to leave
We say our goodbyes and plan to meet up tomorrow
I'm not completely sure what it was...but something changed that night
It wasn't a big change...just a subtle feelings but i'm unable to pin point what it is
