Sadie
Sadie blinked at the large, very angry monster and the two smaller, but still just as mad glowy monsters behind them.
We need to protect the humans. I hope you all brought a weapon!
Sophie's voice snapped her out of it, and she pulled out her wand, pointing it at the closest wolf. Buh bye, wolfy. It was rare when a shot worked that well, and Sadie felt a glow of pride at the runes that were quickly dissipating into thin air.
The feeling vanished with the other, more visible glow when she saw the other two creatures. Sophie was riding the manticore, with several other members of their group trying to keep it from advancing. Magnus and the boys were reassuring the frightened campers, and for some reason Hazel was trying to fight the other wolf all on her own.
Darting over, Sadie began to tag team, eventually being joined by Dex, who had pushed his way through the crowd to help.
Finally, they vaporized the stupid wolf, and Sadie turned just in time to see Sophie reduce the monster to a sprinkling of gold glitter, dropping down and howling at the full moon before brushing her dress off and addressing the crowd "That's the end of the show, folks! Give Dex's animatronics a hand"
Everyone smiled and clapped, acting like they had known it all along, and Sadie stifled a laugh. Sophie had diffused the tension, all while getting into character with the whole direwolf thing. (It suited her pretty well, Sadie thought)
A new song began, and Sadie went to dance, forgetting the strange howling in the magical night.
Keefe
Keefe glanced around the dance floor looking for Sophie, and he was just about to give up when he noticed a flash of silver. Now that he was looking straight at her, he wondered how he had missed her before then.
She looked extremely relaxed, munching on one of the delicious looking snacks and looking up into the sky. He walked up, and noticed that Sophie blushed as soon as she saw him.
"Hey, Foster. That was awesome, what you did back there."
"Eh, it's cool. I just followed the training and my experience at Havenfield."
"You really need to start realizing how awesome you are, but that's not why I came over here to talk to you."
Raised eyebrows. Was he really going to go through with this? He glanced over to where what seemed like... Keefe did a head count. Yup. The entire grove was watching them, and Magnus was shooting him a huge thumbs up. Subtle, they were not.
Turning back to Sophie, he continued awkwardly, "I was wondering if you wanted to go dance? With me, I mean?"
Sophie blinked, and for one, terrifying second he thought she was going to say no. Instead, she blushed, nodded, and walked towards him, taking the hand he had unconsciously outstretched. He wasn't sure who was leading who at that moment, but he was happy that he had a win.
Right as they walked onto the makeshift dance floor, the song changed to one of the slower ones they had picked. Gah, was the universe conspiring today? Or, judging by the smug looks, their friends. Oh well.
Drawing on all those awkward dancing detentions, Keefe decided to stop thinking and just move to the music. He must not have done too bad, because after a few more songs, they went to go eat a few more desserts, and Sophie didn't seem to be offended.
If anything, she was blushing like crazy, eating a big slice of that peanut butter cake she had made. Keefe looked out over the dance floor and noticed that Sadie was signaling him.
