Okay, first: I have no idea why I wrote that a/n with all the refrences last chapter, but if you got any of the obscure ones I may have to follow you so I have someone to talk to about theories :)
Second, I finally got the confrontation, so even though Annabeth doen't remember the wall break, I fufilled her demands!
Annabeth
Annabeth looked towards Alex, who nodded carefully. They had decided to play a group game of truth or dare then get ready for bed early instead of watching another movie, and in the time they saved they were confronting the counselor.
The boys were all in their cabins, and Sophie was sitting on one of the crafts they had made, a small sewn pillow, and watching the stars.
Piper stepped forward and said in her most persuasive voice, "Hey, Sophie, can I ask you a question?"
Sophie smiled and looked at them, her eyes not at all glazed by Piper's charmspeak. "Depends what it's about."
Piper pulled Annabeth over to confer with the rest of the girls. "My charmspeak isn't working on her at all! What do we do now?"
Sophie must have heard Piper, because she said "Yeah, I can't be controlled by any sort of Mesmer, although I am willing to answer one reasonable question just to gain your trust, as long as you keep the answer between us."
After conferring over which questions they would ask, Annabeth walked up to her and asked their question. "What kind of creature are you; demigod, monster, or something else?"
Sophie shook her head. "Unfortunately, the one question you asked can't be fully answered, but I can say this; my friends and I are not in any category of creature you have ever heard any true accounts of, but we will not hurt you or anyone else who does not provoke us."
Annabeth followed her into the cabin, and from the way all of the other girls were acting towards her, they were also reassured by Sophie's answer.
Annabeth had a lot of practice with reading people, and she could tell that the (18- year old?) girl had wanted to tell her the whole truth, but something was keeping her from doing so.
The next morning, the awkwardness that had been hanging between them was virtually gone. The rest of the day was normal until chores, when they took turns going up to the main hall to use the washers to clean their clothes and then dry them. The girls got to go first, and as soon as they were done Sophie ran off to go set up the night's activities.
Since they had finished their chores early, they played Night at the Museum, Keefe winning with Percy a close second. It was kinda creepy, how they had both just stared out at the rest of the group no matter how loud or funny they tried to be.
Eventually, they gave up and headed over to the dining hall, where they rejoined Sophie. She had a blizzard of glitter all over her, and a streamer stuck in her hair. Keefe laughed good naturedly when he pulled it out of the tangle that was half hanging out of its scrunchie.
"Ugh. Those six year olds are bossy. And messy. One of them tried to fill a balloon with glitter, coat it in glue, and throw it at the fan blades to get it to stick to the fan. Of course, it backfired, and I was the unlucky counselor who got stuck under the glitter shower. At least it wasn't the solar system model."
Annabeth shook her head, commiserating. The dinner was themed, with rainbows and ray guns everywhere. Judging by that and the age of the kids who had planned it, Annabeth got ready for a repeat performance of unicorns, aliens, and cheesy awkwardness.
Magnus
Magnus was ready to go, but they were waiting on the last few people to be done getting ready. They had decided to get all the way ready for that night before going on to the activities in the great lawn. Luckily, the girls ran up soon, Sophie looking significantly less glittery and more comfortable.
As they walked towards the festivities, Magnus steeled himself for a rainbow-pocalypse. However, he was utterly unprepared for the level of colorful glitter.
The counselors that had been enlisted to help were identifiable by the trace amounts of glitter still stuck in their hair and the satisfied, tired looks on their faces. The head of the camp announced the campers of the grove that had masterminded the party and the stations, then dismissed them.
After spinning all around, Magnus decided to head up from the mess hall and to the ziplining field, following the rainbow tape. The ropes course was all set up, and the bright lights were beginning to come on. Magnus could see Keefe looking up at it worriedly. Just then, Sophie came zipping down, unclipping from the line at the end and walking over to them.
"So," she said, her voice daring. "You've found the teen zone.
Every Sunday Funday, the leaders of the oldest biome get to hang out and set up a slightly more teen-appealing party. While they play Y.M.C.A. for the umpteenth time and eat way too sugary fake snacks over there-" she pointed at the rainbow station and continued, "Up here, we eat actually edible desserts around a campfire, climb around on the course, and when it gets dark have a glow stick dance party.
The first biome goes to bed in an hour, then the second biome gets to go, and we stay here for three hours. Usually, some of the counselors from the younger biomes play rock paper scissors and send one person from each grove to hang out down here with us." Sophie finished with a smile, and Magnus couldn't help but grin back. They didn't have to hang out at rainbows and smiles land after all!
Sophie showed them how the new harnesses worked, and everyone except Carter spent the next hour until dark climbing around on the tires and ropes. As the night moved on, Keefe and the other counselors from the biome went to get the desserts and Sophie began to hand out glow sticks, acting as DJ and dancing along to some of the songs.
Sadie
Sadie walked over to the edge of the dance floor, panting slightly. Sophie was still twirling around, her skirtall spinning out around her knees and the glow stick necklace creating a halo effect.
It was a cute design, and Sadie found herself wondering where she got it and the cute leggings, necklace and bracelet she had paired it with before she mentally slapped herself. No, she was NOT going to turn into one of those obnoxious girly-girls now! When she had first seen the unicorns, she had been about to barf.
The more understated teen zone was much appreciated, especially since the music faintly drifting from down at the mess hall sounded suspiciously like Party in the USA for the tenth time in the row. The other counselors from their biome came jogging back with smores supplies, and Dex trailing behind.
Soon, the music was turned off, and the fire was roaring. Sadie roasted her marshmallow carefully, making sure it was blackened to a crisp before grabbing a peanut butter cup and graham crackers and assembling her sweet sandwich.
Sadie watched as her friends, both old and new talked, sang and laughed around the fire. The first week of camp was almost over, and they had eight weeks left. There were still plenty of mysteries, but Sadie was no longer worried about demons, but rather planning her next adventure.
Just then, Sadie made a mental goal. Watching Keefe and Sophie working together to give them a tour of the whole camp over the past week had highlighted to her the obvious crush the boy's counselor had on Sophie.
Sadie would try her best to get them to realize how perfect they were together. Watching how Sophie was blushing at Keefe's teasing and knowing how oblivious the counselor was, Sadie would need help.
For now, though, she was just going to enjoy the night.
Sadie is a super-shipper, friends!
I'm not gonna make the A/N long this time :)
