Reo halted as she heard Suga call her just before practice had started.

"Hey Reo! Wait up!"

"What's up?" She smiled and nodded slightly in greeting.

"I just wanted to say..don't worry about your height too much, okay?"

Reos face turned serious as she listened to her upperclassman, not expecting the encouragement.

"You have other things that will 100% work to your advantage. To start, your serves are the best serves I think I have ever witnessed. They're amazing."

She tried not to cringe at the praise.

"And secondly, you are fast. Even if you're not as fast as Hinata when it comes to spikes, you can receive well. When we start playing real matches i'm sure you will get us a lot of points."

"Thank you Sugawara-san." She bowed in appreciation. "That is, if i'm in the line up for the games anyway."

His words did help. It made her realise that just because she has weak points doesn't mean that she doesn't excel in other areas.

"I have no doubt about it." His lips turned up before he threw the ball her way, a silent invitation to practice with him.

Reo decided she liked his smile. It was warm and friendly. Usually, she had grown to become suspicious of those who seem too friendly at first, because they often have different motives, but Suga had a caring aura around him and he made her feel comfortable.

"It's decided! It's decided! The practice match! It's against one of the top four teams in the prefecture! Aoba Johsai High School!" all heads turned to the entrance as Takeda ran into the gym, breathless.

"Seijoh?" Reo asked, a competitive fire already igniting inside her as she gripped the ball intensely. This sense of eagerness only growing as she realised that there may be some people who went to her middle school there...not that she'd have known them, as she was always busy practicing for her own team, but she was sure some of Kageyamas old teammates go there now.

Reo looked in Kageyamas direction, only to see him glaring at the floor, muttering to himself.

Takeda proceeded to introduce himself to the other first years, saying hello to Reo at the same time. "I have no volleyball experience, so I can't help with your technique, but for anything else, I'll do my very best." He said.

"But, Sir, how did you get a powerhouse like Seijoh to agree?" Suga questioned, causing Reo to turn her full attention back to Takeda once again, curious for the answer.

"They had a condition. Kageyama must play setter the entire game."

After about half a minute of tanakas complaints of Seijoh only wanting to see Kageyama and them not considering Karasuno a threat, the upperclassmen agreed to the practice match.

Reo surprisingly didn't feel nervous at this news. This was her first match with Karasuno, where she wasn't playing with her old girls team back at Kitagawa, or Shiratorizawas team. To be honest, she really wanted to see what Oikawa was like. He seemed to be her competition when it came to serves, whether he knew it yet or not. Not to mention how much Ushiwaka used to tense up whenever someone spoke about him.

She reached up to tap Daichis shoulder after she had sauntered up and waited for his conversation with Takeda Sensei to come to an end. She had leant against the wall a metre or two away as to not eavesdrop. "If you don't mind me asking, will I be playing?"

Daichi raised his eyebrows and nodded, "Without a doubt. Your serves are sure to get us points, especially when they're not expecting you."

Reos posture straightened at the news, her excitement only increasing. "Will I be playing as pinch server?"
