You were out cold. Practically dead.
Meanwhile...
Shinsou saw you leave with Mina, which did slightly concern him, but Mina seemed good-hearted. But that was one out of who knows how many people in the house, on top of that, most of them were drunk. To seem unfazed, he stayed a few minutes with the guys, since Jirou left in another direction when Mina and you did.
Now, he couldn't take it anymore.
He excused himself and made his way to the main dance floor, he was done with the party. Once there he saw the puffy haired girl dancing, but she was by herself.
'Where is she, Mina said she would stay with her...God this is what happens when you leave intoxicated people without supervision!'
He thought to himself while pushing through the crowd to get to the recognizable girl dancing.
"Hey! Where is she?!" Worry flooded his voice. This was his one job, to protect her and now she is missing. She looked confused at first so he followed up with your full name to jog her memory.
"Oh" She hiccuped. "I think she left with some blond dude. She walked to the back." She grinned after she said that which made Shinsou even more annoyed, but didn't dwell on it. She wasn't in her right mind and all he focused on was getting outside.
He looked out to the slightly lit patio, a small yard extended out from it. He assessed the people back there, trying to make out a 'blond dude' in her words. To which he did see one, in the corner, holding himself over what seemed to be another body. They were wearing the same sneakers you were.
"Oh fuck no!" He whispered under his breath, running up to the guy and yanking him off of the body. As he did, he got a better look, it was you. The body he hovered over was now confirmed in his eyes. "What the fuck do you think your doing?!"
"What the hell dude, mind your own damn business! I was just gonna have a little fun." That comment sent Shinsou over the edge. He grabbed the blond by his collar and continued to punch him in the face. Once, then twice, the third time being enough to knock out the fucker. Leaving his jaw bruised and nose bloody, where Shinsou's knuckles were only slightly purple from the beginning of bruising.
He crouched over your limp body, only your jacket had been taken off, but your shirt was rising up. Luckily nothing else was gone, he didn't even want to think about what would have happened if he came any later. He tried to wake you up, but it was no use no matter what he tried. He assumed your drink must have been drugged by the jackass before coming out here. With no other option of getting you conscious, he slipped your jacket back on you and picked you up bridal style. Taking you through the side yard so you wouldn't bump into anything or anyone.
To his luck, the dorms weren't too far away, just about a five minute walk. It was a little difficult to get the door to your room unlocked while he still held you, but he managed it. Walking in and laying you on the floor with a pillow under your head and a blanket on top; Since there was no way he could get you up on your bunk. He tried to wake you again, but it was no luck, all he could do now was keep an eye on your breathing and wait until you woke up.
It was around 11 pm when he got you situated on the floor of the room, but now it was closer to one in the morning. Shinsou still stayed by your side, wide awake with a cup of coffee in hand. That was when he noticed movement coming from his right.
You felt consciousness come back to you, your eyes adjusting to the room no longer being blurred and black. The dreamless sleep felt like it lasted a second and a lifetime, there was no way to measure it in reality. You sat up slowly and felt a presence to your left get closer. Shinsou was hugging you.
What, why?
"Thank fucking god you're fine. We are never going to another party ever again. Most I will accept are small home gatherings and that's fucking final." He sounded exasperated, but you weren't totally sure what was even going on. You looked at your phone to see almost 2 hours had passed from the last you remember. "Oh shit, right. I'll tell you what happened." After that, he explained to you everything he knew and suspected. You didn't quite comprehend everything quickly.
"Fucking hell, okay...That is, kind of a lot to take in. God, I know better than to let my guard down that much too, I'm so stupid." As you contemplated that information, your mind wandered to what could have happened and it overwhelmed you. It was interesting how you never had been one to cry much before this week, but tears started building up in your eyes. Shinsou noticed, how could he not.
He hugged you again, any type of physical contact from him always surprised you you liked, but you enjoyed it.
"Shhh, breathe. It's okay now, I'll never let something like that happen to you again. You hear me? You are going to be okay, and if anything, it's my fault. You asked me to help keep you safe and I failed you, I'm sorry." His words calmed you down, but saddened you too, it wasn't his fault.
"But you did save me, if it hadn't been for you coming to look for me I would have still been at that house. I don't want to know what type of condition I would be in honestly. But now, I am in the comfort of my home, with a trusted friend. Even though we met only a week ago, you are very important to me you should know that, and I thank you for it." With that, you both went silent as you hugged him back now. It was true everything you said, and you think he understood that.
"It's late, we should get some sleep, especially since we will start classes tomorrow." He said to you, releasing you from the embrace and cementing the fact that it was already early morning.
"Would it be okay if we fell asleep watching something tonight too? I think it would make me feel better having a you next to me." You looked down saying this, asking a question like that would be embarrassing for anyone. Heat crawled up your neck to your cheeks as the aftermath of it. But luckily, he understood, and unknown to you, wished for you to ask that. He wouldn't admit it, but he enjoyed the company too, because it seemed something about you helped him sleep.
You changed into pajamas while Shinsou looked for something to put on, respectfully looking away from your direction. You crawled up into his bed next to him, being engulfed in his smell as you did. It lingered of vanilla, coffee and pine, which was an odd mix and fit him perfectly. And as you scooted even closer to him, it became even more apparent.
He was scrolling through Disney+ when you suggested Anastasia, which he gladly agreed to. As it played one last thought filled your head before sleep came over you.
"You know as much as I hate being a damsel in distress, you make a pretty good Knight in...well a band tee and grey sweat shorts." A small smile painted onto your face as the world around you blurred into fantasy. Shinsou laid beside you with a similar look, but an extra pink tint over his face added to his state of feelings.
The compliment melted him in a way he never had felt before. You thought of him as good, not evil as so many others before you had done so many times.
