A week passed since the night of the party. You and Shinsou had decided to fall asleep on the same bed for a few nights afterwards, but did eventually split again after you finally felt like you wouldn't be ripped from sleep with gripping hands around your neck. The loss of each other's presence was uncomfortable still, because it seemed to build into a habit over 3 or 4 nights. You knew deep down it wouldn't be good for you in the emotional state you were in to get too attached. At least, that is what you told yourself to reason with certain desires that lingered in the back of your mind.

Your second week of school, on Wednesday morning, the campus held a meeting for all of the first year students. Which realistically wasn't that many people, compared to other universities, since it was a private art college. There were only around 700 people gathered in the largest theatre on campus.

The head professors from each department joined on stage, as well as the headmaster, Nezu. he was a smaller man with white hair that stood at a pedestal, front and center on the stage.

"Hello newcomers of UA! Honestly we planned have had this meeting before school even started, but our timing didn't quite work out. So this is going to be a proper introduction to the school for you. However!" He yelled so loud the mic gave feedback for a second before he could continue. "Before that, we have an announcement, something new we will be doing this year." He took a pause when everyone in the audience started to whisper amongst themselves. "There are going to be no final exams this year!" A large applause and praise exuded from the students beside you.

There has to be some type of catch to this right?

You thought, your expression towards Shinsou sitting next to you matched the question in your head. He seemed just as skeptical as you were.

"Of course that doesn't mean you all are going to be let off easy while here! Instead of assessments, there will instead be two options available for you to complete throughout the year. The first option, you will work independently to make some type of portfolio or project to showcase your major. To which you will be graded accordingly and that will count as your final assessment. The second option, is to work with your roommate or mates, to create a masterpiece of sorts containing aspects from all of your talents and classes. This option will be pass or fail depending on whether you submit it in or not. With an extra opportunity to gain a scholarship for your second year, fully funded by the school and out donors. Only one group will win per year level, it will be a competition to take into account." With that final statement, the crowd went quiet, many looking towards their dorm mates.

An automatic pass for turning something in and the possibility of having your tuition paid for a whole year? That was an opportunity only a fool would pass, which only made their chances of winning even slimmer.

They continued on with the normal presentation of activities and school system break down, but everyone was noticeably in their own heads. When you were dismissed, you grabbed Shinsou by the wrist and dragged him to your guys' room. Once there, you forced him to sit down on his desk chair and listen to you, which he didn't question since he actually seemed a little...intimidated?

"Okay, I'm sorry for manhandling you, but this is important." You took a second to catch your breath in between sentences. "I have an idea, for the final assignment. Second option, we're going to win that scholarship." A giant grin spread across your face and what seemed like a proud smirk formed below violet hair in front of you.

You went on unabashedly.

"So here is what I'm thinking, we make a short film. You can be the videographer, because you know way more about cameras than I do, plus you know how to make a scene look good. I can help with story building, writing, editing, and recruiting. I am thinking we can make it kind of euphoric, telling the story of the transition between highschool to college, through a vivid color palette and playfulness in cinematography. Giving it less of a mainstream film vibe and more A24. Where there are elements that look kind of amateur, but on purpose...What do you think?" All of that was spouted out in about 2 big breaths on your part.

You had this type of concept on your mind for a while, ever since you started high school really. You just never had the means to produce it. But now, the opportunity was right in front of you, because you had him...and other friends of course. Ones that you were sure could help you with it, with Mina and her group, it was possible.

"Honestly, you had me at short film. And even if it sucks- not saying that it will, but in an alternate universe where it did, we still get credit for it anyway, right? The scholarship is just a bonus. So, I'm in." You couldn't keep your excitement to yourself. You jumped onto Shinsou's lap, landing a bear hug on him while he was pushed back in his chair.

He knew that you were a pretty touchy person, but oddly didn't mind it unlike he did with everyone else.

The embrace ended at some point, you weren't sure when.

You both spent the rest of your day, after your classes were done of course, planning the rough sketch of how you guys would pull this off. The first step was to fill out a survey to say you were picking option two, so the faculty knew what to expect. Which no doubt would be the easiest part of this whole process.

After that, the brainstorming began.
