As you were parking in the closest parking garage to your dorm, you finally woke Hitoshi up. He slept through the whole drive, which you were jealous of, but you just couldn't bring yourself to wake him. Even when you took that wrong exit and had to find a way back to the freeway while his phone short circuited trying to redirect itself.

He grumbled a little bit, discomforted by the shaking to his shoulder. Eventually he opened his eyes, which forced an airy grin as he realized what was happening. Both of you got out of the car, and left practically everything you'd brought in it, besides the immediate necessities. Making your way up to the dorm, hands intertwined and falling loosely to your sides. No rushing or pulling as you both groggily made your way up the elevator, one slow from not sleeping and the other from just waking.

It was around 2 p.m. now and only four days left until classes started again. The door to your room on the 3rd floor felt heavier than usual, especially as you realized something you hadn't before. At least it hadn't crossed your mind until now.

"Um, Hitoshi...Was I the only one who forgot about these bricks they call bunk beds we have to use after sleeping on your cloud of a mattress at home?"

He deadpanned with a look that made it seem he only just figured something out. You were going to take that as a no and nearly slapped your palm on your forehead.

"...So how are we going to do this? Cause I'm still exhausted and want to take a nap with my girlfriend. So, I guess we'll just have to pick a bed." He commented while darting his eyes between the two bunks.

"Okay, then we nap in yours and before classes start, we are going to get good memory foam covers to make these more comfortable."

Right when you said you had picked his bed, he started climbing into it. Acting like a child wanting to be carried after he sat down, holding his arms out making a grabby motion with his hands. You chuckled to yourself thinking about how he would never act like this with others. You almost wished there was a secret camera somewhere so you could prove it was real.

You made your way up and collapsed into him. His arms tightly wrapping around your waist as your head laid on his chest. You always liked the feeling of his arms around you, they were strong, they made you feel safe.

You were drifting through your thoughts as you felt a soft and warm presence on your forehead. Then on your cheekbone and back to your forehead afterwards. You finally opened your eyes, as they were previously closed, and looked up at the boy laying beside you. He had kissed you so gently that even though you couldn't see it, he smiled into them, you would know the feeling anywhere.

"What was that for, I thought you were sleeping?"

"I'm going to sleep soon. You're just so beautiful that I wanted to make sure you were still real." You melted at his kindness. Like the wicked witch of the west when she got water doused on her; Melted.

You both didn't say anything after that. Completely falling into each others bodies, both finding yourselves asleep in record timing. With him, calming your mind down enough to fall asleep was always easier. You expected you had the same effect of him too.

The next few afternoons before classes continued similarly. You spent time together between naps and small 'dates', nothing too official but still very sweet. Though of course plenty of the hours in the days before school were spent separated. You allowed yourself to continue editing the project and Hitoshi seemed to be busy himself with things. Most likely school work, but you couldn't say for sure.

Two days before classes were going to start, your phone rang with an all too familiar name popping up on your screen. You were in your dorm on your bed watching Mob Psycho with Hitoshi before having to pause it to answer.

"Mina, it's been a long time since we last talked over the phone. We always just text each other. What's up?"

You had kept slightly in touch with your loose group of friends over a group chat Mina had made, specifically for while you were on break. It was used once in a while to show what people were up to or to ask questions about random things. The thing was, with everyone being busy, most of you had not talked in any way besides texting.

"Ugh I know it's been too long! Which is exactly why I'm calling you. Momo is having a really small exclusive party tonight at the house and I want you and Shinsou to come. It is gonna be like 20 of us max and we are just gonna just hang out and stuff."

"That sounds fun, since we haven't seen each other in like a month." You paused and turned to Hitoshi who had been listening to the conversation the whole time since Mina was on speaker. "You wanna go Hitoshi?"

"Wait, is Shinsou there?! Put him on the phone, I wanna say hi!" Her voice raised even more with excitement. Mina loved people. she could be friends with anyone if they let her.

"Hey Mina, you're on speaker. I've heard the whole thing. What time is the party?"

"Ooh right, it starts at 8 and you guys can stay the night too if you decide to drink or whatever. There is plenty of space to spread everyone out through the house."

"Oh nice! We can sleep in an actual bed again. I swear I am going to set these bunks on fire if we don't get those covers soon dude." You directed that towards Hitoshi, but Mina popped in.

"Why are you guys sounding like you're deprived of mattresses? The bunks aren't that bad and they fit a person fine." She was confused, you could tell that much. But then apparently she dug deeper into your words and came to a conclusion not meant to be discussed yet.

"Unless two people were to try and share a bed. Then it would be crowded and uncomfortable, but there wouldn't be a reason you two were doing that...Would there?" Her voice was filled with a suggestive tone and curiosity. You and Hitoshi hadn't discussed telling people about you guys yet. So the air after her comment was filled with silence as you tried to ask Hitoshi what to say without actually speaking.

"OMG! You guys share a bed! Are you guys finally dating?! You hear that?! The volume in this call is astronomical, it is way too quiet." You still weren't sure how to respond, but luckily Hitoshi took it upon himself to.

"Mina. Seriously think about this for a second. Do you think friends that watch anime together aren't going to have occasions where they accidentally fall asleep watching them together? Not to mention the mental illness."

"I mean I guess so...Ugh you guys are no fun!" You could imagine the pout on her face and let out a low chuckle.

"Exactly. And on top of that, do you think I want my girlfriend to wake up with a creak in her back because our bed is almost as hard as a cement block? No. So we will see you later at the party after we go shopping for egg crates. Later." With that, the boy next to you took your phone out of your hand and hung up himself.

"What just happened, you just left her with no explanation. I didn't realize you would be okay with people knowing? 'Cause she is definitely going to tell the others once she is out of shock."

"We weren't gonna be able to hide it, and they are our friends, right? So why not start off with a bang and just rip off the bandage. She will be fine."

"Okay, personally I think that was a perfect way to do it. Except I'm gonna call it now and say she will be banging on this door in less than 10 minutes, so I say we run before that happens." It sounded like it should be a joke, but it absolutely wasn't. You didn't feel like being ransacked by unfiltered questions at the moment.

You both struggled to put your shoes on and as quickly as possible, stumbled your way to the car. You ended up stopping at Costco to actually get stuff to make the bunks more comfortable. Spending the rest of the afternoon off of campus with each other: getting food, walking around a nearby park and of course browsing Target for an ungodly amount of time.

Yet before you knew it, the time came to head back to the dorms to change and head to the sorority.

This will be interesting.
