The day finally came, the 14th of March. To your surprise, Hitoshi never said anything about white day, probably because you both didn't celebrate Valentine's. So you played along to his ignorance, of course, even though you had a totally different plan up your sleeve.

It was early afternoon, both of you were done with classes for the week, when you got up out of bed and started getting your stuff together as if getting ready to leave.

"What are you doing?" Your disoriented boyfriend spoke up after feeling you leave his side.

"Getting ready to take this damn box to your parent's. I told your mom how it's been in the way and she said it was alright to store it there. At least until I'm ready to open it and go through it."

"So you're going home? And you didn't tell me?"

"I did, this morning when you woke up. But I guess it was before you had your coffee, so maybe you don't remember. You said you would go with me, we could stay there the weekend to visit with your parents." Gaslighting at its finest.

"I don't remember any of this happening, but my memory is not good to begin with. Let alone without coffee."

"I know, so get up and ready to go, because we are leaving soon. I don't want to hit as much traffic as possible."

"Yeah yeah, okay. I'll be ready in 15. I'm carrying the box, you grab everything else we need." You followed his unprecedented orders. Grabbing the necessities and extra clothes for the both of you, all of which were fit for a spring festival.

"Okay, I'm ready, you?"

"Yeah, let's go." He grabbed the box and you made it down to your car.

You pulled up to the house after driving for about an hour or so. As you made it to the door and rung the bell, two friendly faces answered.

"Awe, so glad you made it okay. It's wonderful to see you again." Mayuko was the first to greet you and give you a hug. You liked how friendly they were.

"We're glad to be back so soon." You bowed to show your respect after the hug. "Hello Hatori, nice to see you again." You didn't think the older man in front of you would go beyond a friendly handshake in your greeting, but you were pleasantly surprised when he gave you a small hug.

"Good to see you two are doing well." He said to Hitoshi and you.

"We are doing good dad, but my arms are starting to go numb from carrying this box. Can we get in the house so I can put it down and give you two a proper hello?" You could tell Hitoshi was being serious, even if there was a joking undertone in his voice.

After quickly moving inside, he put the cardboard down in the entryway and did exactly as he said he would. He gave his mom and dad a hefty hug before speaking again.

"Okay where am I putting the box. 'Cause it can't stay there."

"In my office, I'll show you. We made a spot for it, hopefully it's big enough to fit." Hatori chimed in and led his son to the office.

"So, Hitoshi still doesn't know about the plans does he?"

"No he doesn't, I'm going to tell him about it soon though. So no spoilers."

"Mine and Hatori's lips are sealed."

You spent an enjoyable homemade dinner all together in the afternoon but once night hit you found yourself with Hitoshi in his room, alone. On his bed, you cuddled up while watching a random movie neither of you really paid attention to.

"Hey Hitoshi, I know you probably forgot, or maybe just didn't bring it up, but happy white day."

"I didn't know if you wanted to talk about it, since we didn't do anything for Valentine's. Now that you brought it up though." He got up for a second and dug through the jacket he had been wearing, grabbing a small box before coming back to snuggle you. It was wooden and had a small snowflake on it.

"What's this? Wait! No, I wanted to surprise you first."

"You have a surprise for me?"

"I mean, yeah? I wanted to do something for you."

"Believe me when I say that you do so much for me already. Any physical present after that is a plus." His arms tightened around you more than before as he spoke.

"I know, but still, you'll find out what the surprise is tomorrow and I hope you like it. For right now, what is this?" You asked again, before opening the little wooden box.

When you did, a small song escaped it. It was 'Yuri On Ice' playing.

"It's beautiful. Where did you even get something like this?" You turned around to face him, compared to your previous position facing away from him while sitting on his lap.

"This dude in one of my classes was tampering with a similar one during a break we had. After talking to him about it, he said he made them and I got the idea to get one for you."

"You are the best person I have ever met, have I told you that?"

"Maybe once or twice, but you are my favorite person. So the feeling is mutual. I'm not usually huge on surprises, but I'm sure I'll love it; I love you."

"God I love you too." You gave him a soft kiss which he gladly received.

Now all you had to hope for was that tomorrow would go well.
