Familial Troubles

The streets were desolate as everyone crowded around the town centre still excited about the burning of the witch. Tapping of his feet on stone and dirt faintly sounded in the street as his cloak flipped in the small draught coming from in front of him, causing Shuichi to have to hold his cloak hood down for his safety. The sun was warm and the boy wished he could feel the warm sun on his skin but he knew that wouldn't go down very well for him, his uncle or the people they saved from the outside. He and his uncle needed to survive for them.

"Damn it where is he?" He mumbled to himself as his pace quickened from street to street, unable to find who he was looking for. After minutes of running around the space between his house and the town walls he finally found his target. Slowing down to a casual walk he approached the boy he was quickly becoming fond of, despite their species despising each other.

"Took your time~?" Kokichi teased, his hands resting behind his head as he rested against the wall next to the guarded archway. "Ready to go on our walk?" The phantom had to be careful with his words, the nearby guards may not have been in earshot but it wasn't worth risking the boys safety.

"You two aren't going." Himawari appeared next to the two boys, having seen them from the tower window and using his speed ability to appear in a nearby hidden alleyway. "I won't allow it."

"Uncle I know these woods, I can keep us safe." Shuichi rolled his eyes, annoyed at how overprotective his uncle was being. He just wanted to go outside sometimes, even if he were only to hang around town on his own outside from getting food it would make him happy. Now that the vampire had witnessed the fun supernatural beings could have thanks to the phantom, Shuichi wanted to have fun more than ever.

"Let him go Himawari." Kokichi sighed. "If he wants to come with me he can."

"I'm not letting him get banished again. My word is final. Come with me Shuichi." He reached out to grab his nephew's wrist to try and pull him away before the three were approached by a knight whom decided to investigate the argument heard by his fellow gate guards.

"Hello gentlemen, is there something wrong here?" Kokichi's heart started racing so much that he was terrified of accidentally transforming due to anxiety. The purplette had never been so close to a knight since he normally ran away or turned invisible before they could get close. The Saihara's however remained calm as they were normally investigated by knights due to Himawari's job as the town's journalist.

"I was about to go on a walk outside with my friend here but that man won't let him." Kokichi rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the wall, resting his hands on his hips to sell his adventurous, entitled teenage boy attitude.

"Sorry Sir, my son is grounded so I'm just bringing him back home." The Saihara's pretended that Himawari was Shuichi's father in public, otherwise it was a whole bother of trying to make up a story about Shuichi's parents and not let it slip for risk of exposure.

"Whatever old man we're going out." Kokichi grabbed Shuichi and started pulling him away towards the gate. Himawari had the worst lapse of judgment in his life and used his speed and strength ability to push Kokichi and grab Shuichi, trying to pull his nephew back towards the house before the knight yelled out for help.

Chaos ensued as the knight immediately used the spear he was holding to jab at Himawari before he grabbed the knight and threw him across the street, the wall cracking at he hit it with a crack and thud. Himawari grabbed Shuichi's wrist again and tried to run but Shuichi used his strength against his uncle's to pry from his grip, little to the knights' knowledge. By no time the rest of the guards that could leave post had surrounded the Saihara's, threateningly pointing spears at Shuichi when Himawari sped off with his vampiric speed.
