Tears soaked the damp bed cover as the boy wept for the millionth time that night. It had been only a day since Himawari was executed and it had been a day since Shuichi had eaten or left the house. Kokichi understood how he felt, the purplette had been through his fair share of suffering and death during his life; so he was speaking from experience when he knew Shuichi needed to get some fresh air and food.

"Nishishi~ Your saviour is here!" Kokichi sung as he slipped through the window into Shuichi's home. "Damn what happened here? Looks like a bomb hit this place." He commented about the messy two-room home that had been ransacked immediately after Himawari's execution in case the old vampire was hiding secrets about other supernatural beings. It was a well-known procedure by this point after every execution.

"Kokichi? Oh my-" Shuichi jumped up, stumbling out of the dishevelled bed and attacking Kokichi in a hug which led them to both fall to the floor in a heap of tangled limbs. "I'm sorry I'm so so sorry!"

"What for?" The phantom couldn't help but laugh as he stroked the other's hair comfortingly.

"Yesterday... When we fought. I'm sorry for getting mad at you I swear I didn't mean what I said!" Shuichi yelled in between sobs.

"Jesus Christ calm down God's abortion I get why you were mad!" Kokichi laughed.

"Y-you aren't m-mad?" Shuichi hiccupped.

"Of course not! Why would I be mad at a cute guy like yourself~?" Kokichi winked at him, making the vampire reel back in embarrassment.

Someone cleared their throat as they walked through the front door, green eyes sparkling with intrigue at the two boys sitting on the floor. "Sorry I'm late, Kokichi was a bitch and wouldn't help me in through the window."

Kokichi rolled his eyes in response at the guy as Shuichi just looked back and forth in confusion. "Well I'm sorry I can't carry your heavy ass in the air with me Rantaro!"

"Sorry but... Who are you?" Shuichi mumbled, scared to speak up in case Rantaro was a dangerous person.

"Woah woah relax buddy, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm a close friend of Kokichi's, Rantaro Amami. Nice to meet you...?" Rantaro trailed off.

"Shuichi."

"Hm? Just Shuichi?"

"Yeah..."

"It's a long story Ran-Ran we'll tell you another time!" Kokichi grinned as he jumped over to Rantaro, flying onto his back to force his friend to give him a piggy-back.

"So... are you...?" Shuichi didn't know how to ask Rantaro's species without making it too obvious, but quickly got his answer when the small potted plants on the nearby makeshift wooden table began to fully bloom unexpectantly.

"Earth fairy, I know not too flash compared to you I'm sure." The greenette looked down in slight shame before Kokichi clipped him over the ear.

"Hey! What have I said about self-deprecation?!" Rantaro only sighed in response.

"Aren't earth fairies almost extinct? I've never seen one in person before..." Shuichi cautiously approached Rantaro and circled him, fascinated by the endangered species although he was also secretly checking for any weapons.

"As far as I know only my sisters and I remain, making thirteen total. Anyway what about you Shuichi? You don't look too... not human."

Being the shy, introverted boy he was, the vampire just bared his fangs as a response, too scared that someone would be listening in on their conversation (even though if they were being listened to someone would've arrested all of them by now). "Neat." Rantaro grinned, always being interested in the cunning vampires that seemed to be the best criminals due to living the longest (so far). His eyes lit up again as he got very excited, leaning in towards Shuichi. "Hey... do you know the Saihara's? They're vampires too right?"
