Shuichi ran forward towards the boy and grabbed him, causing a yelp and slap from Kokichi. "Shuichi?! What the fuck?!" The two stared at each other in shock, neither saying a word for a few minutes out of pure surprise.

"Are you okay?! I heard you scream I thought-" Laughter cut the vampire's worry short.

"Don't worry I'm fine. Screaming releases stress!" A grin spread so wide that the phantom's eyes closed. "Here, I'm far away enough from the cabin that no one would hear me."

"How long have you been coming here?"

"Since you brought us here. I've explored more than you'd think." Kokichi rested his hands on his hips, puffing out his chest in brief confidence.

"Why did you run away though? Especially at night on the day we got you back. You know you can talk to me if you need to." Shuichi tried to hug the boy but Kokichi shoved him away.

"I'm not stressed, I just felt like screaming. And coming here is better than talking about that stupid, childish, boring, fake phantom thief story." Kokichi acted as nothing annoyed him more than 'fairy tales' but Shuichi noticed the panic behind his violet eyes. He decided to join the boy on a dead tree log and smiled in response to the confused glance from Kokichi. They both watched each other over the dim moonlight.

Kokichi was a good liar, no ordinary person could see through his stories, but Shuichi was no ordinary person. He knew the boy was lying so he decided it would be a good idea to stay, giving Kokichi a chance to open up on his own. A loud sigh tore Shuichi from his thoughts. "I'm sorry."

"What?" Shuichi spoke without thinking. Kokichi never apologises, if he was wrong then he'd never admit it.

"I said. I'm. Sorry." Kokichi spat, annoyed that he had to repeat himself. "I shouldn't have made a scene when I walked up on you and Kaede, you two can do whatever you want. Sorry for the whole getting kidnapped thing too, it caused you guys a lot of trouble."

"It wasn't your fault! Don't worry about it Kokichi. Plus we found out Monokuma's motive and saved Himiko, Tenko and Korekiyo, so if it didn't happen then we'd be none the wiser and probably dead." Kokichi mumbled something inaudible under his breath. Shuichi wanted to ask him to repeat himself but didn't want to make Kokichi mad.

They sat in comfortable silence together before Kokichi turned his entire body to face the vampire, straddling the tree log. "Are you and Kaede dating?"

"Oh? Uh, no... but I don't think she sees it that way." Shuichi watched the suddenly very interesting leaves sway in the breeze, not wanting to make eye contact. "We haven't talked about the kiss. I've been meaning to come out as homosexual anyway but I'm scared someone will kill me." Shuichi mumbled.

"You like men too?" The two stared at each other, the tension around them weighing down on their minds and hearts. All of a sudden Shuichi felt two hands on the sides of his face and soft, cool lips against his own. Shuichi leant into Kokichi's body, returning the kiss as the cool night breeze flowed around them. Sparks flew around them as their bodies stuck to each other like magnets, fitting perfectly with each other. It was almost as if they were made for each other.

Kokichi shoved Shuichi back onto the soft grass without warning and stared at him in shock. Shuichi rubbed the back of his head in pain, groaning as he untangled himself from the bush Kokichi had unceremoniously thrown him into. "I-I'm so sorry I-I don't know why I did that..." The phantom seemed more panicked than he'd ever been in his life as he ran away mumbling "I should not have done that, I should not have done that."

Shuichi stared after him in confusion, shaking his head to try and rid himself of the inevitable, oncoming headache. Gently hovering his fingertips over his lips, he felt the ghost of Kokichi's lips on his body, as if the wind around him mimicked the boy's touch. "I should head back..." He mumbled to no one, trying to climb over the tree log to make his way back to the cabin.

"Everyone is back, safe and sound."

"What?!" King Monokuma shouted, his anger threatening the stained glass windows to shatter. "They were supposed to die in the dungeon how did they get out?!"

"Shuichi found the key almost instantly. If I stopped him then it would've been too suspicious." They deadpanned, looking straight ahead as they knew their failure warranted no punishment. It was something out of their control and King Monokuma was a fair and just man.

"I understand, after all, you cannot blow your cover." Monokuma approached his spy with a small jar in hand. "You are to kill at least one of them. Trap their soul in this jar and return it to me as soon as you can, the more you hold onto it the more likely your cover will be compromised."

"Understood Your Majesty." They took the jar and slipped it into their carry bag to be less suspicious. It wasn't just the group of wanted criminals they had to hide from, but the unsuspecting Mors citizens as well.

"Make sure to leave the ones I've mentioned earlier. Also, from now on I want you to leave Kokichi alive, I want the satisfaction of harvesting his soul myself."

"Understood Your Majesty. Are there any further orders?"

Monokuma swished around and settled into his throne, his king's cape elegantly draped over the armrest. "None, thank you. Remember, I'll reward you handsomely at the end of your mission."

"I will not fail you, My Lord." They bowed before the royal guards escorted them from the town under the cover of night. Which one of them would be the best to harvest? Maybe I'll go for...
