Proving a Point

The next day (Y/N) was drooling sound asleep in her bed as she slept the night away. She had got her ass handed to her by Maki and was gonna try her damn hardest not to let it happen again.

(Maki POV)
"Good morning Maki." Panda said. "Good morning, good morning Toge." I said and he waved. "Are we going to get her now?" Panda asked. "Yes we are, she's slept long enough." I said putting my glasses on. Panda chuckled, "I dont think she slept long enough." Once we got to her door Panda knocked. "(Y/N) its time to wake up." He said getting no response. He knocked several more times until I sighed, "Stand aside." I said as I knocked the door down. And there she was, climbing out the window. She jumps out as we run to the window only to see she isnt there anymore. We hear laughing as we look up to see her on the roof, "Catch me if you can!" She said running off. Toge unzipped his collar and uttered stop causing her to fall off the roof. Panda caught her and shook his head. "You got a long way to go."

(Y/N POV)
"Come on guys I was just playing around." I said as panda put me in a hold. "Honestly how many times are you going to run away?" He said. I sat there and thought about it, "Until I get tired of it." I said causing him to sigh. "If I put you down you wont run away will you? If you do Toge will stop you." He said and I sighed, "I guess I wont if he's going to use his cursed speech on me again. Plus im beat, I dont feel like running anymore." "You might as well, we have a mission today and I refuse to have you not do your part." Maki said. "You're a REALLLLL piece of work you know that?"

They dragged me back to the field. "I thought you said we have a mission today?" I asked about to lay down until my eyes met Maki's. Sorta like a "I dare you to lay down again". I shuddered at her look and stood behind panda. "Come on Kamo, we dont have all day." She said pulling her staff out. I narrowed my eyes at her causing her to smirk, "Whats the matter? I beat all that tough talk out of you yesterday?" She asked teasingly. It was true she did beat the shit out of me but I wasnt going to give her the satisfaction of knowing. If I wanted to be able to land a hit on her I was going to actually have to try. I readied myself as she spun her staff around. "Begin." Panda said as I changed at her.

I began to throw out punches and kicks, which she blocked and knocked away obviously because you know, its Maki. I wasn't used to straight up hand to hand combat considering Nishimiya used her broom, Mai had her gun, Jr used his arrows, Mechamaru used his blasters, Miwa had her sword, and I was too scared to challenge Todo considering he was a jar head with brute strength. So fighting these guys here, it was a whole new experience. As I kept coming at her I watched her smile, "Oho, You're actually trying today?!" I didn't respond as I kept trying to land blows. I pounced at her feet causing her to jump up. You cant move in the air. I jumped at her about to knock her down until she slammed me back to earth with her staff. Once again Maki had won. I just layed there and stared at the sky.

As the pain swept through my body she walked up to me and held her hand out. I hesitated but grabbed on and she yanked me out the ground. "Good job for actually trying today." She said smiling at me. "Yeah whatever you say Maki." I said walking by her. "Can we go now?"

(Maki POV)
"Can we go now?" "You're in a hurry for what exactly?" I asked. "Because I want to come back and take a nap." She said and I giggled. "Hanging onto your laziness wont get you far with me." I told her and she huffed. "Whatever, im leaving..." she mumbled. As she walked in front of us Panda tapped my shoulder, "Can you believe she actually tried today?" He said. "It surprised me too, but she's still holding herself back."

(Y/N POV)
"Is this the place?" "Yep, that curse should be in this forest." Panda said. Great, now I'll show these losers REAL power. I thought taking a deep breath. As we continued walking Maki walked up to me, "Listen, I dont know how you operated in Kyoto but here its a team effort." She said causing me to yawn. "Hey, you do you and Im gonna do me ok?" I said sassing back at her. "You cant even beat me in training how do you expect to fight a curse?" She asked and I smirked. "Just because I cant beat you doesn't mean I cant beat a curse, two different levels Maki." She shook her head, "we'll see what you're really made of." "Hey you two can you keep it down." Panda said as he came to a stop. "There." He said pointing.
