part nine:

"Sunoo would you have any idea why Jungwon is ignoring me?" Jay finally decided to ask the younger's closest friend. It was now over two weeks and he was beginning to lose his mind just a little every day. Wondering if he hurt the younger, wondering if he made him uncomfortable in any way, and even if he truly just didn't like him were some of his most frequent thoughts.

"Hyung, I'm going to be honest with you here. He doesn't tell me anything whenever I ask him about it" Sunoo took the seat beside him and handed him one of the cookies he held. Jay hummed softly and looked down at his shoes, noticing a few dirt stains that he still hadn't cleaned off from before. "Would you maybe have any clue... why? I mean you've known him longer than I have, could you possibly make a guess?" Sunoo took a bite of his own cookie and chewed before swallowing.

"I have a big guess why, to keep his president image intact. Jungwon hasn't dated before and whenever people would confess to him, no matter who, he'd always turn them down. He doesn't even like talking about dating so it's possible that he realized what he was doing with you and freaked out. Maybe something someone said made him think about it again," Jay took a few minutes to process what Sunoo had just told him. "He doesn't get attached to things either, people included. There actually was a guy he was interested in back in middle school but, that quickly went away. As soon as he got involved with the council, he began to put up all these beliefs that he still goes by today." He added, swinging his feet back and forth. "Such as no dating, following all rules to the bone... stuff like that."

It was just a few minutes before classes so Jay thought it would be good to talk to the younger now, to get some sort of answers. And even though he walked away with some sort of new understanding, it only fueled his need to do better and makeup with Jungwon much stronger. I'll make sure we go back to normal, I promise.

I've been seeing Jay hyung around a lot more than usual. As soon as Sunoo had given Jay some sort of idea why he was getting ignored, he had come up with a dumb plan. He planned to stick to him, cling to him until he finally gave in. Yes, it's a stupid plan but it's a plan nonetheless. A plan that he hoped would mean something to Jungwon enough to bring them back to normalcy.

"Good morning!" Jay exclaimed once Jungwon opened his front door. He woke up early to make sure that he was there when the younger was leaving to go to school. The younger though didn't seem too thrilled at this action. He crossed his arms with a little frown. "What are you doing here?" Jungwon asked, closing the door behind him. "I'm here to walk with you to school, Jungwon-ah"

The next situation was right before he met with the advisors. Usually, only Jungwon and Jake were needed to attend but members of their council were also allowed as well. So as soon as Jungwon asked the class if anybody would like to accompany him and Jake, Jay was quick to raise his hand. "Jay... Are you sure?" Jake wrote down his name, tilting his head a little. "I'm sure about it."

At the meeting Jay was quick to take the seat beside Jungwon, making sure to keep his eyes on him for most of the meeting. The only times he would look away would be when Jungwon would glare back at him or whenever the teachers would call for him. "Can you please stop staring at me and focus?" Jungwon grits his teeth, before using his left hand to turn Jay's head towards the front.
